Nice, but a roll of the dice.
I'm not sure what to make of this product. I don't even know where to start with a review. So...I bought a small thinking that it would be right, and it was a little too small. Okay, no big deal. So then I ordered a medium. Since the dress was cheap, and actually would have costed a fair amount to ship back, I decided to keep the small, especially since I do a lot of sewing and often have uses for the material. So....I get the medium, and it's a completely flipping different dress! I mean, similar style, but quite different, and a completely different material. Both velvet, but very different. Like night and day. The medium actually looked much more like the picture, and was a thicker, better quality material. The fit was weird, though. The back should come down quite low, like the picture, but it was way off. When I put it on, the the back of the dress came halfway up my back, and the front looked weird and unflattering. But if I took the straps off and slid the dress down so that the back was in the right place, then it was incredibly flattering, beautiful, and sexy. But then the problem was that the chest didn't come up far enough, and the skirt was too long. My solution? I cut about 4 inches off the bottom of the skirt and sewed the edge. Then I cut the chest, bisecting it right above the elastic seam. I then took the extra material from the bottom and spliced it in to the middle to raise the chest up 4 inches, putting in the perfect position. Then I spliced in some extra cord to lengthen the straps using the straps from the small that I kept. Crazy, right? But it worked, and it's beautiful now. I'm very happy with it.It was worth it for me, but I'm used to modifying things like that. I'm very good at sewing. I buy a lot of stuff online with the expectation going in that I will have to modify it. If you're prepared for that, then it could be a good buy. You just need to be aware that this one might be a gamble. The gamble could pay off, though, because my end result was gorgeous.Bottom line: if you want a dress that you can simply order and have peace of mind that it will fit and be exactly what you expected, then this is not your dress. But, if you want to live life on the edge, then you might want to give it a try. It could be great. Or it could be a disaster. This dress will either be the best decision you've ever made...or the worst. Ever played Russian Roulette? Time to spin the chamber, boss.
