For $17 it meets my expectations, would buy again. Made in Taiwan is good.
Update 2021: It holds about 10 grams of beans in the hopper. The catch container has plenty of room for more if you care to reload after grinding the first 10 grams. Price has gone up, and now the wood one is only $10 more. I have gone to a grinder with a bit higher capacity, but happy with the use I got and can still get out of this one.I am no coffee expert nor connesseur nor snob. I decided to try this b/c: one less motor to burn out, quieter, and less expensive than the electric burr type.I noticed this grinder (fumao cug) is also available with a classy wood base, (fumao driver). I am okay with the plastic for $17 rather than $40 for half plastic half wood. I cannot vouch for its durability or for the grind consistency. I am pleased with it and would buy again. Packaging is high quality and says made in Taiwan. The translations are amusing such as "Grinding eveness UP UP"One nit: the heavy duty rubber band to hold the handle is so snug it's difficult to tuck the handle. Would buy again. And looking forward to my 3rd cup of coffee from it tomorrow morning.

Pretty good grinder for non-oily spices too.
I had bought a higher end hand grinder for everyday coffee and decided why not spices? I got this one so that if I ended up ruining it, I didn't lose out too much. It turned out well. We use it for black pepper because we use it so often, it works well. No issues so far, we love it. I falls over often enough for us to make sure it's on the counter and not on a shelf because easily it spills over the peppercorns because the top isn't snuggly fitted. But other than that, it's worked well once that issue is understood. Definitely would have used this for coffee if I could only afford this.

At least it's fairly fast...
Purchased this hoping to get a cheap grinder to keep at the office. I've had several manual coffee grinders and have found you do usually get what you pay for...First off, this grinder is inexpensive and thanks to its steel bur is probably the fastest manual grinder in its price range. Unfortunately, like everything else in this price range, the adjustments are less than exact. Also (common to this price range), the bur wobbles while grinding causing a lot of inconsistency. Finally, and the worst part, this grinder instills a significant static charger to the coffee grounds. They go everywhere and stick to everything but into your coffee making device.Returned and NOT recommended.

Static problem
Too much static. It's a mess to use. However it does have a nice set of metal burrs. Also, way too small. The handle is like every other grinder around this price range, so no big deal there. I'm not a fan of the way they designed the top bean cover. The top felt cheap, loose and flimsy.
