This company is doing things right
This company never ceases to impress me. I've gotten several pairs of laces from them for both my derby and skate-park skates. They are amazing quality. The wax on the outside is unique--definitely made with durability and efficacy in mind.Regretfully, the last time I ordered from them I took my skates out to the park and as soon as I hit the concrete, the laces ripped. I figured it was a flawed lace since I'd never ripped a lace upon first impact.When got home and sent the company an email through Amazon explaining what happened and wondering if I could have an extra lace.Instead, they sent me TWO pairs of laces plus a beautiful bag.This company KNOWS how to keep their clients happy and deserve every penny and more that we spend on their laces.Can't wait to order another pair and another and another!

Upgrade from Impala Laces
I am new to skating, and just got Impala skates, the laces that came with my skates are wider and softer and not long enough to lace all the way up, and it make for less ankle support. I decided to try out these, I got the 108 inch and they are perfect. I wanted to lace up my impala's all the way up and have enough go around the ankle too, I could of gone for the longest length but didn't want too much extra. Love these laces already since they are stronger and thinner so they fit in the eyelets perfectly. And since now my impalas have laces that actually lace up properly I feel I have more support in my skates. There was a tiny part that looked a bit messed up and I could of gotten them replaced easily enough I'm sure, but it just a small surface imperfection, it wouldn't compromise the integrity of the laces so not a big deal at all and it's not noticeable.EDIT: I just got a replacement pair of laces in the mail sent from derby laces + a draw string bag... this company really aims for quality, their laces are great and have so many options, 100% getting any future laces I need from them. Thanks Derby Laces <3

Style and function... A++
Really love these! The wax is subtle and I can tell it will help the lace tightness stay in place. I got the teal & purple, 84”. They fit my Sure-Grip Boardwalk skates just right. Third pic to show that the length is enough to go to the top (11 eyelets) OR to leave off the top couple and go around the ankle. If you want to do both, they’d need to be longer. I don’t prefer either, so they’re just right for me. Pictured with and without added Sure-Grip toe-guards. I feel confident in the quality, and in the company’s genuine interest in providing good product & service. Thank you, Derby Laces!

I don't usually write reviews - 5 stars
I ordered several new sets of laces for my EXPENSIVE athletic shoes which I have been wearing with laces too short to tie. I hesitated over the price of these but ordered them and also a less expensive pair. They are great: sturdy, vibrant color close to sample on line, and exactly the length they said they would be. I am using these vs the cheaper ones. TRUTHFULLY! Laces arrived in a bag that I will use for my shoes when I travel.

Holy grail laces!
I bought the size 96 inch in periwinkle. it is a GORGEOUS color, but it’s more of a pale, almost white in contrast to my black skates. My only issue with it is, I should have gotten the next size up. I normally order this size for my Lollys and I always have extra to wrap around my boot. However, i just bought the new Panther skates from Moxi (basically a beach bunny) and because the boot is bigger/wider, it’s a little too short when I made everything up to the top. So, i’m saving this one for my Lollys and ended up ordering the next size up.

Reasonably strong and durable; use 2 colors to tell apart left / right feet
(Wife): I bought 96" Derby Core laces in two colors: hot pink and grape. They are waxed laces.The Derby Core laces are fairly strong; but if you skate in the street / on rough asphalt and fall, like other laces, your laces could get some abrasion from a fall. They still seem more durable than softer laces.My skate setup is a pair of Sure Grip Fames with outdoor wheels, The laces they came with were softer than the Derby Core laces. I'm pretty convinced that I made the right call in switching to Derby Core laces - both for likely increased durability vs. the stock laces and adding a fun splash of color! The 96" length was also a good bit longer than the stock laces, which was helpful to me.At first, I did run into some trouble keeping the laces tied - especially when practicing forward toe stop braking on asphalt and some basic tricks on asphalt (which sometimes led to falls).Personally, I found that lacing my laces with much smaller loops than in the picture - frankly, roping them around the back of my high-tops once or twice - actually seemed to help my laces come undone less often on the street. A double-knot might help, too - and using a braking method other than a toe stop skating forward, such as a plow stop or drag stop (aka a t-stop - although I find it more challenging to do on quads than on inlines).I am very glad I bought two colors, because it makes telling apart the left / right skates soooo much easier! I also love the look. Way less boring than just white, imo. ; )Another thought: if you like to lace one part of your skate tighter than another, you could possibly get much shorter lengths and use two shorter laces per skate - at least, if your skates are high tops. I'm a noob, so still trying to figure out the best lacing style for my needs.Hoping that helps. = )
