Knee Brace (Small Left (7-9")

Provided additional support
Used the brace quite a bit especially since we're awaiting surgery on the leg sometime in the future. Leg no longer an issue, but I use it when my dog is going to play hard and run, provides additional support to keep from reinjuring leg.

I wish there were more sizes.
My dog is a little too big for the small and a little too small for the medium, ugh. We kept the small, and shaved his leg so it would fit a bit better. More sizes would be great. The other trouble was that they were out of stock on the Left Rear Leg brace for a long time. Once I got it, it didn't seem like there was anything super one-sided on it, leading me to wonder if I could have used the Right Rear Leg brace in it's absence. I still can't quite tell if you could, but boy- would an either-side brace be great. That said, this brace did seem to help him as he waited with his torn CCL for the resultant TPLO surgery. It seemed to stabilize his knee enough so that he could put a bit of pressure on it, which took a bit of pressure off of his other hind leg, helping it stay healthy. However, it being a bit small for him meant that whenever he sat or squatted, the brace would quickly slide down his leg to his ankle, no matter how tightly it was attached over his back. That wasn't great, but we would readjust as soon as he changed position, or we'd take it off for a while. It also meant that the brace developed a deep wrinkle/crease from him sitting with it around his ankle when we didn't catch it quickly enough, making it even easier for it to slip down the next time. >_<Speaking of design, the strapping that goes over the back and behind the dog's private parts is genius. It really stayed on well when he was walking. I will say that our guy has a supportive rump and tail (Not-So-Mini-Schnauzer), so if your dog has a sloped back end it may not work as well for you. I looked at it initially and thought "no way", but it did the job beautifully. So while I'm grateful for this brace, there are things they could tweak that would make it even better! More sizes, and better availability, and an ambidextrous one, for example!

XSmall size required some modifications for fit..
Once XSmall modifications made, this brace worked well on my small mix breed dog. Probably a XXSmall size might have fit better. Difficult to measure dog for correct sizing. However, overall I was pleased with the support it gave. Dog was comfortable with it.

Worth the aid, if you dont mind getting a little dirty.
1. You'll prolly need to have a harness.2. Male dogs have a penis, they will piss all over this thing.3. Despite having dog Piss on my hands every day I keep using this on my puppo because it does help him.4. About a week into wearing it, the dogs mental state has become more normal and he seems more like his old self deapite being 3 legged.

It's an option
So, the material is soft and thankfully it was easy to clean after he got wet with it on. I have 2 issues with this particular brace. #1, he got out of it somehow. #2, the strap was rubbing across the lower portion of his "unit" and causing irritation. Also, he did appear to be cramping up after having it on for a while. I guess this all could possibly due to user error, however, I followed the directions included with the brace, so I doubt it. It is a less expensive option if you are in a pinch.

Buy it!!!
My furkid is a maltipoo who took a flop down our stairs which caused a luxating patella. Her vet recommended the walkabout. I ordered the xs though slightly bigger than expected, Her vet said it was okay to keep so no need to exchange for a smaller size. It has done its job well. I received it a day or two earlier than expected which was good as my lil one could hardly walk She has been wearing it now for 2 weeks all day and removed at night. At first she did walk sad to say pretty funny. She did get used to it after a few days. We are into 3 weeks of an anticipated 6 week recovery I have also incorporated acupuncture into her healing process. Her vet practices eastern and western medicine. I opted for both in hopes of no surgery. At this point it looks like she will not need surgery. The quality is descent. I have not as of yet washed it.

Don’t forget a harness to attach it to!
Overall I think for the price that the quality is pretty good as for the side movement stability I guess it’s as good as it can be without it being too restrictive for your pet to move around.
