I thought I'd be a real ground breaker and be the 1st person to order this, or possibly just the 1st person to write a review (although it appears that Amazon customers are very good about writing reviews). I don't have the option right now to try this unit on another computer so it seems that I received a defective unit. Since I was only eligible for a straight return & refund, I decided to purchase this item from another seller that had 778 reviews with a 4 star rating.

I had ordered this a while ago, and upon originally using it there were issues with the feed cutting out. So the red light on it would be lit for about 1 minute and then the light would go off and the picture would cut out for about 10 seconds. I tried to stabilize everything, maybe slight movement was unplugging a cord or something, but it still cut out with no movement. So a little dissapointed, but I was thinking it was the hdmi cable. I So i put this converter aside for a few weeks. However, I continued to use the hdmi cable with no issues. Today, I pulled out the converter to show an online game from my ACER laptop to my Optoma projector. I had the same issue as before. I switched HDMI cables and the connection was still cutting out after a minute. I moved from laptop to my Cyberpower desktop to see if the issues was with my laptop, again the same issues of the connection cutting out. I think the hdmi port in the adapter is faulty. The product works about 20% of the time I have it connected, so I'm giving it 20% of the score it could get (1 star), very disappointed.

This is exactly what I needed. I had to get two other pieces - a converter from the DVI port in my older MacBook to VGA, and a long mini DVI to DVI cable on the other end to go to the TV. All works great. I have the older laptop hardwired to the TV and that's its main job now. HA!The reason I bought THIS product was because of all the descriptive photos of it. I could see that the lengths of the wires would be long enough, without being too long, and that the connections were what I needed. I felt confident I was getting what I ordered.NOTE: This had a different name on it, not LinkS.

It does what it's supposed to do - I have an older laptop with a vga port I wanted to hook up to my hdtv via hdmi. It is plug and play, and sends the image and sound to the tv, but there is a faint buzzing, which can be annoying. You get what you pay for with this - functional, but cheap.

This converter works but it came with the wrong power cord. It was supposed to have a usb to micro usb to power it but came with a usb to mini usb cord. fortunately I have several of the proper cords lying around so I was able to use the device, now to see how long it lasts.

A negative rating due to the standard lack of quality control which is typical of products made in China. The video worked just fine but the audio input was defective. A second star was given due to the easy return and refund otherwise it would be one star. It is too bad China can't include quality in their products. It gets tiresome returning defective China made products.

Ust connect usb as power source and vga for video, to computer for it to work! Works great after this is done, instructions wont tell you this, why i dont know!? Almost returned it lmfao! Peace, and thank yall so much, a must have in my studio!!!!

The second time I used this the USB connector in the HDMI converter fell INSIDE the converter when I plugged the supplied USB cable into it. At this price point I thought it might last 6 months to a year. It didn't make it past two days. I might be able to take the whole thing apart and fix it but I'm not convinced it's worth the effort. I went to a local electronics store and bought a name brand version (at more than 2x the price) that's still working flawlessly.
