5 Star potential, but major bugs make it a 3 for now!
I really want to give this 5 stars, as it has so much potential - however there are a couple of big bugs that make it pretty useless for my HTPC.Currently this will not wake up my PC from sleep (it gets disconnected as soon as the machine sleeps, and wont reconnect without physically taking it out and plugging back in). The FLIRC forum have a few reports of other people with this issue, and I believe they are looking for a fix.And second issue, with some remotes (MCE remote in my instance), the up/down/left/right keys do not repeat. i.e. you cannot hold down to scroll a list, you have to press multiple times. Again the FLIRC forum mentions that this is a known issue, and hopefully a fix is on the way.If the 2 issues are fixed, then this is definitely a 5* product. If you use a FireTV, or something that isnt a normal PC, then this is a 5* product. My issues are on a PC only.Other nice things about this - the range is superb - I was worried I would need a USB extension cable to put the receiver somewhere more visible, but it picks up my remote signal even when as far as i can tell, line of sight is blocked!

Excellent Addition to my PI Media Centre
Won't bore you with a long review...Have a Pi Kodi / Media Centre setup and needed to add a remote to the situation so I bought this.Extremley easy to set up using any random remore control you have lying around the house in my case I used a old Android TV remote that is about ten years old because it had all the play, pause, rewind extra buttons on it. To set the FLIRC up you just plug it into your PC and it will ask you to program your remote by picking a on screen option and pressing the corresponding button on your remote control of choice... it genuinely could not be easier.Setup on PI was also very quick and straight forward and it just works perfectly.Really cannot fault this... fair price for a well made decent product that is easy to set up and use. 5 stars baby!!

Awesome with Shield and Broadlink!
I've been using this on my Shield along with my Broadlink Pro. I had to buy a random cheap android remote to programme/sync with the device but that was just to teach the device what to do. It had pre programmed shield functions out of the box and after a single firmware upgrade it now works flawlessly via my Alexa and broadlink to control my box.I've programmed "go home", "go back", "back two", "left 3"etc etc. Home automation bliss!Add in the Alberto Sonerus app/skill and you can even open apps too.

Gets your Harmony IR Remote working with the Amazon Fire TV Box
I bought this to get my new Fire TV box working with my Harmony 650 remote. In this regard, it works very well. Long presses aren't enabled yet - which is used for some functionality on the Fire TV box - but I've heard this ability is coming in a future update to the Flirc-USB.For setup, I used the MyHarmony Windows program to add a new device to my remote, with manufacturer Flirc and device FireTV. I then inserted the Flirc-USB into my Fire TV's rear USB port, and this was all that was needed to get it working (after that you can inject it into any activities you've setup). I installed v2.0.4 of the Flirc software on my Windows 10 PC but this was for my own curiosity, and wasn't needed during the setup phase. The software installed & worked fine on my PC.All-in-all, if you want to get a Harmony IR (Infrared) Remote working with your Fire TV Box, then I can highly recommend the Flirc-USB.

It just works!
A great piece of kit, that just works!I couldnt get a Kodi box working with a Harmony Elite remote (it worked on one set up but when swapped over didnt work on the newer PI4 version). This quality finished item resolved any angst and just worked straight out the box.I have since added the download app to my pc and it updated the software on the USB IR dongle, giving a sense that this is a fully supported item that can be trusted for future operation! Great!
