Good deal, not a very helpful review.
Honestly, I haven't had time to read them cover-to-cover yet. I can't really offer you a great, in-depth review. Sorry. You do get both Kindle books, albeit in one file. Would have preferred two separate files, but... meh. Good deal, so no worries.I did, however want to help raise this product's rating. As an avid Amazon customer, I rely on ratings quite a bit for my purchasing decisions, and this product page got a bad start. I don't feel like the product should suffer 'cause someone didn't pay attention to what they were getting, because I know that can affect the sales. I found this package after seeing the high ratings for both of these books separately on their own product pages... Crucial Conversations Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High, Second Edition Β (yes, the package actually includes the second edition) &Β Crucial Confrontations **If you'd like reviews more helpful than mine ( =P ) you can always read the many positive reviews for these books separately. They are the same two books spliced into one Kindle file, far as I can tell.**I will say, both of these books have helpful information in them (from what I've read so far), and are written in a way that is easy enough to read. Most of all, this is a GREAT DEAL! I hope more Kindle books move toward this kind of package-deal structure in the future, because this is essentially 'buy one, get one free' pricing (at the time of my purchase, anyway). If communication skills are something you'd like to improve in your life, I'd say this is a great bargain on some worthwhile knowledge. Also, if you do buy it, please come back and leave an honest review! Apparently this product's page could use them. =P[I am in no way affiliated with this book, author, publisher, kindle, the word 'crucial', or anything to that effect. Just trying to give this product a fair shake.]

A must read for all human beings!
This book should be mandatory as part of all state funded public education programs, rather than elective as an adult. Easy to read book. After reading, one should find many ways to utilize the tools in this book. I have benefited emensly personally on professionally. The observation tools alone allow me to recognize when dialog is not occurring and to be better prepared to diagnose and re-establish communication. When I think of all the great communicators I know, they already practice to some degree the teachings of this book. We all can improve in the way we communicate with others around us. Giving you tools to systematically analyze why a conversation is making a bad turn, or maybe just help you know that indeed a conversation is not going well is greatly beneficial. Most of us are caught up with our own thoughts to realize there are other minds to include to truly talk to one another. I am 31 yo and a Nurse Practitioner specializing in endocrinology.

2 Fabulous Books for the price of 1 BUY this combo!
First, you do get both books; they just download together instead of separately (Goto location 4173 for Crucial Conversations). This is a fantastic bargain.Second, the authors provide you, free of charge, resources and asessments linked from your Kindle, PC, or PlayBook, etc. You are able to watch videos while reading (on my PlayBook the videos are sharp and high quality). If you are even the slightest bit interested in these books BUY the kindle version; you won't regret it.I don't know if the print versions contain all of the resources, but it sure is convenient to just be able to click a link immediately when additional materials are referenced in the text.I haven't finished reading the two books, but have taken the assessments as a pretest, so to speak. These assessments alone are worth the price of these two books.I have yet to go through all of the resources available, but I am excited to have them.I get the sense that the authors truly want people to become better leaders and communicators; its not just a way to make a buck or get something published. You won't be disappointed.:)

Just read it...
This is the most comprehensive book I have read about conflict resolution. It teaches you not only how to behave in high-stake situations but also makes you understand more the human nature and thus yourself. Furthermore it is easy to read and full of examples. Also, it is apparent that the book is based on research and provides you with a full set of instructions which actually work.If you think that you are a good conflict solver then read this book and you will be surprised to find out how much you have not known.Working for a Fortune 500 company and participatig in several meetings on crucial decisions I find it amusing how few use these skills. Have not you heard that it is a must have? Just do not think you can ever have an effective meeting without everyone present mastering these crucial conversation skills. I am positive everyone should read it unless they want to waste their energy and time on pointless arguments and making decisions lacking vital information.

Great Kindle books
I have read the first book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of lessons to put into practice.

Good, but not present the ideas in an effective way
The concept is good. But the book presents in a way that is somehow difficult to understand to readers.1. Too many unnecessary metaphors, such as adrenaline pumping up the brain2. Too much slangs3. Too many stories rather than one story from the start to the end.4. Some examples are in another new story.5. Last summarise chapter is using one story, but not detail enough. The video on the internet is not helping either, it just describes the before situation. It does not have a after situation to contrast. It is also too hard sell, somehow forcing us to go to vitasmart to attend the course.

Awesome mindset
These two books, in combination, help make those crucial conversations easier to manage and keep the flow of conversation moving, but if the conversation doesn't quite work out, then it helps the crucial confrontation process become more manageable.
