2/20: Works great! It's so bright and the motion sensor works well. We bought it to illuminate the dark parts of the back yard for when the dogs went out (so we could see what they were up to) and it absolutely does the job. However, we have a relatively small yard and it doesn't illuminate the whole thing - be careful if you're thinking 1 light will do the entire yard.Update 3/5/15: I am changing my rating from 5 stars to 2. I originally bought qty 3 of these. Two of them were fantastic and performed as I reviewed above. However the 3rd one was a little geeky - we'd go out in the evening after it had been dark for a little while and the light would be super-dim. It took a while for us to realize that the motion sensor wasn't working properly. As soon as it got dark enough, the light would turn on and stay on until it ran out of juice and died. It would recharge the next day and do the same thing the following night. I started a return on the 3rd light (defective) and ordered a 4th one. The 4th one has the same issue! The light doesn't ever turn off until it runs out of juice. So that's 50% defective - not a great average! The ones that work, I'd still give 5 stars. But the other ones deserve 0 stars...update 3/9/2015: I got an email from the seller stating that they'd be happy to send me replacements at no cost if I improved my review rating after I received and tested the replacements. I had already purchased replacement from a different manufacturer so I declined the deal (don't need any more) but agreed that I'd update my review. Because of this offer from them, I changed it from 2 to 3 stars for the supplier being easy to work with.update 3/23/2015: I received the 2 free replacements. One of them worked, the other didn't. I can't in good conscience give any more than 3 stars because I know most people won't read this long of a review so they won't get the whole story. The lights that work, really work well. I love them! It's just that such a high percentage of them don't work... :(

This is my second purchase of this motion sensor. The first sensor worked well and I was quite impressed. So I bought a second sensor assuming that it will work like the first one. This morning I went to the area of the latest sensor and as I apporaced it the senor lighted up around 5 feet. It was lighting up at 12 noon. I approaced the sensor a couple of times and it only lighed up at around 5 feet. The first sensor has a far greater motion sensing distance and it does not light up when there is sunlight. I checked if I can still return but it says I cant return anymore as it is past the allowed date. Anyway I am totally disappointed and will not buy this sensor again.

Purchased Jan 30, 2020.It was a little difficult to set up but once I made sure it was charging it was easy to install on the post.It worked great for months. Used to illuminate outdoor steps.Began to fail in Aug 2020.Now needs to be replaced.I’m not sure what they mean by long lasting, I’ve had a different but similar one that still works at three years.

I have several LED solar powered motion detectors around the outside of our house, shed, and property. I like these type of lights for 2 reasons... first, they are bright enough to safely light up an area that normally doesn't need lighting all the time. Second, they add a degree of security to your property because of the motion detection. If someone is sneaking around they would be a fool to stick around after these lights go on because they really call attention to that area when they pop on.What I really like about these lights over other ones I've tried (like the FrostFire ones) are that these are much more weatherproof and they stay unlit until someone or something walks past it. Other similar lights will emit a soft glow all night and then get brighter when triggered, but thee stay off and then pop on (very bright I might add!) when needed.

Very happy with this purchase. I bought 4 of them to put in my backyard and one by my front door/patio area. I wanted my dog to have an illuminated back yard when they went outside at night. It is a "blue-icey" glow, but holds up well against the heat/rain/wind/sun. I've been in southern Texas with these lights, and they have done a great job for the last month. I will definitely continue to buy these for my future homes when I move.Pro: Cheap price, holds up against the weatherCon: Slightly dimmer than I was expecting, but still gets the job doneOverall: If you want a spotlight, get something more heavy duty. This is good at illuminating the immediate area. I'm still very happy with them and will buy them again.

works but barely, comes on at odd times and is very hard to establish if it will work at night because on and off switch is weird , you must use a pin to activate and then you ahev no idea whether you turned it on or offgenerally in y opinion a fail05/13/15 updateokay the company contacted me and are sending a replacement and that alone causes me to update the review. I actually was kind of surprised how they respnded so perhaps I got a bad one but the custommer service is very goo . I will see how if this one works and return the original one of

Put one of these on every other fence post to illuminate an approximattely 24' x 60' fenced-in area for my dog. Although they were easy to operate and the motion sensor worked as advertised, they just didn't throw enough light so we could see her through the slider that looks out into the yard. Strange because these lights would blind you if you looked right at them but they didn't seem to project that bright light like a conventiional spotlight with a diffuser or shade. Might be adequate for a much smaller area but I returned them.
