Yes, the numbers are too small
If you wrote a review saying "of course the numbers are small," then so yourself a favor and but a Dot to Dot by Gareth Moore. These numbers are hard to read but I do enjoy them anyway. I am not happy that I paid $12 for a book that had 11 of the 20 puzzles already completed though.

LARGE format, challenging designs ...
These dot-to-dot books come in two formats -- this is the LARGER of the two measuring almost 12" x 17.5". If you're like me, with older eyes (<ahem!>), you'll be much happier with this size than the smaller one.Yes, these designs are challenging, but at the same time very relaxing to draw. There are 1000 dots to connect, with each 100-dot segment printed in a different color which really helps keep me on track. For example, if I'm working in the 200-299 section and the numbers/dots are orange, I know I need to look for orange numbers/dots.I usually do each picture in different color ink, using some fine-tip Uniball Roller Pens. The results are actually almost framable -- and I get a sense of accomplishment when I finish one.For a relaxing way to spend some time, this book is a good choice. Just get a fine-point pen and start at the star -- one continuous line and 1000 dots later, you'll have something to be proud of.

A really nice book!
I'm really enjoying this book. I was concerned with reading the reviews about the "tiny numbers"--but I'm not sure what some folks expected with 1,000 dots?? It's a lot of numbers. They're going to be small. I do all of my coloring, arts and crafts with readers, so this was not an adjustment for me. It's quite helpful that Mr. Pavitte used different colors for the numbers--it would be maddening if not! I agree with another reviewer that a wider nibbed pen or pencil makes the final outcome look better. I used a high quality, sturdy graphite pencil and pressed down relatively hard. Although I didn't erase ( the erase marks would show), I liked the steady feel of a good pencil over any pens I tried. If you intend to frame a piece, however, I would definitely use a medium-heavier point marker like his samples show. Some tips that might help:-I'd suggest tearing a page out (they're perforated) and experimenting on the first one to see what instrument you'd like to use and get a feel for the pictures. Tearing out is a MUST! You'll be turning the page a ton.-Use a small straight edge. Even with a still hand, which I have, it helps a lot! The pictures are very forgiving. There are so many lines, If you make a mistake, simply start at the last number and carry on. You won't find the error at the end!-I read somewhere that they can be completed in an hour. I believe that's a bit quicker than most. Do them at a pace you are comfortable with.-Do yourself a favor--when you take a break, put a post it note in the corner with where you left off. You'll save yourself several (or more) minutes of--"where was I??"I will definitely purchase one of his other books. They are challenging enough to hold my interest. Many of the others seem too simple for my taste. The only reason I gave the book 4 stars was that a handful of the images were a bit dull, despite them being of amazing cities. Since they were primarily buildings, I think other places like LA, with the Hollywood sign, perhaps Hawaii, etc. would have been more fun than a few of them. Many of the images are brilliant though--well worth the money! Adult colorists are a perfect match for this book.

Not for the faint of heart! ...
I got into doing dot-to-dot puzzles back in the early 2000s with the David Kalvitis books, then sort of lost interest. Recently I got into coloring books for grown-ups, and this popped up on a "recommendations" list. I was intrigued, so I ordered it.I'm definitely impressed. As others have noted, the numbers and dots are VERY small. If you don't already have excellent "reading" vision, you'll likely need some sort of magnifier to help. But each 100 numbers is a different color, so that helps keep track of where you are and where the next number might be. This is a large book -- about 10" x 14" -- and each puzzle occupies one single removable page. I take the page out of the book and use a large clipboard while I'm working on it.The completed pictures are quite nice, too -- definitely frameable! And it's a great way to kill time on a trip or just to chill out and relax at home.I'll be purchasing additional books by this artist -- winter is approaching, and our Pacific NW weather is conducive to cozying up indoors. I've ordered another pair of reading glasses, too, so I'm all set. :-)I was torn between a 4-star and 5-star review, and opted for 5. With the proper equipment (good lighting and magnifier), this is a good option for when I don't feel like coloring. So yes, I love it.

around the world in a thousand steps at a time
if you are like me you have never been to cairo. well when i worked on a dot to dot puzzle from this book i watched slowly the sphinx cairo and a couple pyramids appear right in front of me. this is so fun that posting reviews of how much i enjoy this pastime detracts from my enjoyment. so gotta go and maybe find amsterdam later this afternoon. yes world travel made easy fun and with out those pesky border agents. this is the latest review as the current world tour evolves.chicago was the best cause i did not know of the chicago beans existence. after completing the drawing i went next door where my neighbor lives. his wife moved here from there 2 years ago and when she opened the door her glee was palpable. she showed me real pictures of the bean and i gotta say this really captures it. but next up delhi. oh delhi where reflecting pools hold the true secrets of fun. hey mr pavitte make some more dots for us to do

Fascinating and addictive
I bought this some time ago and only completed a few pages (because they were taking a long time to do) but now that I have so much time on my hands in lockdown, I'm really enjoying it. I love the way that in so many of the drawings, you have to go quite a long way before you discover where the location is. It's also a good way of testing whether you need reading glasses!

Bound to keep you entertained in the pandemic
I bought this because I finished the previous one (wonders of the world) and I wasn't disappointed by this one! This features 20 different cityscapes and its amazing how its created using just straight lines and 1000 dots. Each one took me any time from 1hr - 2 1/2 hrs.Now that we're in a pandemic and spending more time at home, this is the perfect product to spend a few hours on every few days with some music or television in the background. Helps to keep you off technology all the time also.

Relaxing
I got this dot to dot book for myself as a form of relaxation and have really enjoyed doing them. The book contains 20 pictures, each is quite large (the book was larger than I expected at around A3 size) and each takes around 30 minutes to complete. The style of the pictures once completed is like an artist's sketch which looks quite effective, especially the further back you stand. These dot to dots made a nice change from the grown up colouring which is the trend at the moment, but if you enjoy the colouring books you'll probably enjoy this too. I did buy another book from the same artist after completing this, and would continue to buy more

Bought this for my 14 year old son after he spotted it in an art gallery's shop. You need really good eye sight (or reading glasses) because the numbers are really tiny, but my son is loving it. You can see what you're aiming for if you want to since there are small reproductions on the back page, but if you prefer the surprise then you can easily avoid looking at them. Not cheap for a dot to dot book but worth it. Check carefully the expected delivery date. I ordered one and didn't notice that it's expected delivery date was over a month later. Luckily I was able to cancel that order and get it from a different seller also on Amazon.

Brilliant family activity for the whole family
I love these dot to dot books. I bought this book for a half-term activity for the kids aged 11-13. I sat down one evening, and started one and with 15 minutes, all three children were doing a page. The pages are perforated and can be ripped out easily without damaging the pages. We used the stabilo finaliser pens and they work really well. The pages are off a high quality so the ink doesn't leak. Overall a huge success - will be buying more for presents.
