After using this hotplate for about a month it stopped working. I opened it up, and the wiring is clearly not capable of withstanding the required temperatures. Insulation was cracked and in some cases fell right off of the wires. Connections were poorly done, and the tubing that was supposed to cover them was able to freely slide down the wire to where the connections were no longer covered. There is no grounding plug, so the metal frame could become electrically hot if any of the faulty connections come in contact with it. That could in turn electrocute the user. This product should be taken off of the market before someone gets killed.

I received one with Euro plugs instead of American plugs so this item is unusable unless I buy an adapter.
