You’ll get your sleep back!
Game changer! Heard about this book from my accountant bc her daughter in law swore by it. Purchased it and read the book in just a couple hours bc I was so eager to start sleep training (extremely sleep deprived). My LO is 4 months old and falls asleep at 7pm on the dot every night and don’t hear from him again until the morning! Started sleep training at 6 weeks old and he literally took to it the first day (not sleeping right through the night but the “schedule” that you follow). He started sleeping through the night only a few weeks ago... BUT before we started the sleep training our LO was waking up 3-4 times in the middle of the night for a feeding and literally within days of sleep training our LO was only waking up once in the middle of the night for a feeding! Definitely great book, great information and not just on sleep training but a lot of other baby things. Following this schedule has even helped with the day to day basics of trying to live your life with a new LO.

Baby sleeps and is calm and happy
Best book I have read to help me prepare for my little one!! So much useful information on feeding, calming, and putting baby to sleep. Step by step, easy to follow routines make you feel super confident in what you are doing. Before I bought the book I read the reviews and some people said this was a horrible book that encourages people to leave their baby crying in a cot till it vomits. I nearly didn't buy the book because of these reviews. I'm glad I didn't listen. Those people clearly don't know how to read. The book teaches you how to calm and settle a baby from the beginning so that it never shows such horrific displays of distress in the first place!!! The author was mearly advising how to help a baby that has been stressed to the point where it is already vomiting regularly, because the parents were using other tactics that are not recommended in the book. This book doesn't just save your sleep, it keeps your little one and it's parents very happy.

Contains useful tips and guidelines
It is a good book for all parents because it contains tips on sleep cycles and how to put your baby to sleep. There is a routine suggested by the author that may work for stay home mothers and for those parents who do well with a strict schedule. I believe if I could be able to follow her schedule my baby would probably sleep longer and better but since I work I had to create my own routine based on the information she gives on the book.

Don't be an idiot
I feel like all of the people complaining about this book have taken it so seriously and to the letter. RELAX peeps! Not all babies are the same yours, mine and the case study babies in the book... yup all different! Shocker I know. Why on earth would you buy a book and follow it to the letter and wonder why its not working. How about a little of your own parenting. This book is not a manual. As the joke goes they don't come with manuals at the hospital.. you also can't buy them on Amazon. This book is a guide. Its a reference. Its a, this is my baby how can I make my babies habits work into a manageable schedule.I mainly used this book for the feeding and nap schedule. I nursed my son and it was fine. I never had a problem with milk production I didn't have any issues with him starving or being to full. It was right on. In fact its pretty much the schedule the nursing keep you on in the hospital! So umm she's not exactly rewriting anything here she's just put it into a book for you to look and and follow according to your preferences. In the beginning babies sleep thats all they do but eventually they stay awake longer and longer. They need a routine they need to know the difference between day and night. How do they figure this out. NOPE not on their own they need your help. They need you to help guide them. This gives you the tools to figure out how to do that. Thats all. Just the tools just a guide. Not a bible not an instruction manual. This is your child to raise and to teach and to feed its up to you to determine what type of baby you have and what kind of parent you are and go from there. If your into attachment parenting, this isn't for you. If your into on demand feeding, this isn't for you. If you want a schedule to work from so you don't lose your mind, this is for you.I combined both this book and the Contented Little Baby to find the perfect schedule for my son. Neither book was perfect for me but both books gave me a bit more then swaddle him and shush in his ear. Just saying. You need all the information you can get as a new mother/parent what you do with that information is your choice.

Very contradicting
A lot of key points that she writes about are well known to be dangerous, for example She suggests putting blankets in with newborn babies. She also has very contradictory points, she says that sunlight obviously wakes babies but at the same time says there is no benefit to letting them sleep in a dark room. Honestly I wish I read the other reviews before wasting my money on this book. This book may help if you don’t work and have a wide open schedule everyday but for a normal person I don’t see it as being possible.

Ok book
This book has promoted a cult following amongst mothers. Some swear by it but i personally found if i listened to my baby I was able to sort out hisnroutine without the strict regimented rules this book advises. Maybe i am an exception, but I didn't like feeling like Inhad to have baby in bed at X time in morning and X hours after feeding, X number mins playing. It is restrictive enough having a baby and trying to get out of the house and reading this book made me even more apprehensive about getting out of the house. In the end I read it, adapted some principles (7pm bedtime in particular) but let my baby tell me what he wanted and we worked out our own routine. I found yes, babies need a defined routine but I don't think all babies fit the same routine. Good read none the less.
