This book is for the people who get up anyway. The Strength In Our Scars is Bianca Sparacino's most powerful collection โ written for anyone who has been broken by life and is quietly, stubbornly rebuilding. Through poetry, prose, and direct compassionate address, Sparacino explores what it truly means to be resilient: not the loud, triumphant kind, but the quiet kind โ the courage it takes to simply keep moving forward on the days when everything in you wants to stop. Where other healing books offer comfort, this one offers recognition. Sparacino writes for the people who love too deeply, who have been hurt too many times, and who somehow still choose to stay soft. She tackles the weight of heartbreak, the complexity of self-worth, the guilt of overstaying in relationships or situations that diminished you โ and the slow, nonlinear work of learning to fight for yourself the way you've always fought for others. This is not a book about being fixed. It's a book about finding the strength that was always there, buried under everything you survived. Perfect for readers who: Are recovering from emotional pain, trauma, or a relationship that left them feeling lost Struggle to extend to themselves the same compassion they give freely to others Find comfort in short, quotable poetry and prose they can return to on hard days Love the work of Rupi Kaur, Atticus, or R.H. Sin Want an emotionally meaningful gift for someone going through a difficult season A bestseller with over 14,000 ratings on Goodreads. A Thought Catalog Booksยฎ imprint. Review: In love - I have had this book for 2 years now and when I tell you, this is my go to when I need strength, courage and to simply get out of bed. I bought it in 2022 I thought it would be a read and put away book never to look back again. I Never re-read books. but this one It comes with me everywhere I go in my bag. these are short verses that are empowering to any individual healing through a tough time. They are not repetitive very unique. Thank you for sharing your heart in this book. Review: MY JOURNEY!! - This book is simply AMAZING, brought tears to my eyes many times because I related to the words she's written. It's been a VERY long 16 years for me: from being diagnosed with epilepsy, so much medications, people leaving my life just because of my "invisible" yet chronic illness, to my recent brain surgeries to try to fix it because I thought and felt I was broken. I've recently discovered how much of an impact my past has made in my life, as well as the crucial family dynamics and miscommunication. So called friends have left just because of my illness and the one I have has changed since I've opened up to her about a lot of things, but that's okay. I'm used to it and accept it because it's MY journey. I'm thankful to her in many ways.... Long story short like she says at one point," YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH!" I'm told I'm overly sensitive, but I've been too strong holding Soo much inside for so many years it's okay to not always be okay. We're only humans and will never be perfect, but as long as YOU know who you are and forgive sincerely forgive and not hold back, it will change your life for the better. This book has allowed me to see things I didn't see despite things I already knew and agreed with. Her words resonate with me still and will forever. I have to admit, I feel a lot less heavier after this book. EVERYONE MUST READ THIS!! Thank you, Ms. Sparacino โค๏ธ

The strength in our scars
4.5โญ๏ธ wow this book really had a hold on me from beginning to end. this is such a good book to make you really think about your life and the people in it as well as the things you have gone through. i want to buy a physical copy of this to annotate now lol. towards the end it felt a little repetitive but other than that, it was so so good. i highlighted like half the book because there were so many good quotes and things to remember. you are loved, you are worth, you are enough.

Soft, healing yet empowering
So beautifully healing! Every adult struggling with life needs to read this! Absolutely love how the author reiterates in a gentle yet empowering way to โstay softโ. I also canโt agree more with the author that it is a shame that todayโs society perceives being soft and gentle as weak; because that is in fact the hardest thing to stop the โdomino of hurtโ, to not let the cruelty of this world turn you into something youโre not, and to be able to love, give and believe as if youโre still an innocent child. Weโve built many walls through life, but we also have the power to melt them all, stay soft, stay gentle, and be the reason someone else believes in light in this world.

great work
The poetry/writing was great. I guess it just wasnโt what I had expected to get into. With that said it sat on my unfinished shelf for quite awhile. When I picked it back up I found that I could relate to many of the writings in my current moment.

Inspiring
I started reading the book online before I bought it, and the first few pages got me. This book is extremely relatable to my personal experiences and has already helped me by just a few pages. I have not yet read the whole book but I couldnโt help but buy it. If youโre going through a breakup, confusing love life, or a drastic change, this is definitely the book for you, and I recommend it to anyone with mental struggles. If you take time to try and understand what the author is saying, it will resonate with you as well. The words really help you open your eyes and mind to what you are capable of, and how you can be the best version of yourself you can be. For me, itโs helping me get over attachment and change. Itโs a big step in my life, and knowledge is something I need, and something everyone needs too. 10/10 recommend.

Good self-help book!
I found an article on another website that led me to this book. It is filled with helpful ways to move past the hurt of a relationship. The author spoke to my heart and kept my attention until the end. I rarely read books in one setting. I could identify with her continuous saying of, '...those who love deeply.' She helped me see myself and come to the realization that it was their inability to love me and not something wrong with me. Although it is written from a secular perspective, it has valuable information for people of faith. I would recommend it to anyone suffering from lack of self-esteem. Learning to love and care for yourself should be established before entering a relationship.
