I put this piece on my k1200lt BMW and had it on 2 days when it fell off. I secured it as tightly as was possible without stripping the screws but it still didn't matter. If you buy this piece you have to put some lock tight on the threads and it might work like it's supposed to. It also didn't fit my kick stand very well. good luck with this one.

could be better
I too had trouble with the fitment of this piece, although I believe some of that is due to the existing wear on my sidestand. The screws did come loose causing the piece to fall off, but I was able to recover it.It did however do its intended job. The K1200LT is very heavy and takes a nap very quickly on soft warm pavement if set on the factory side-stand. This piece gives the side-stand enough footprint to hold on most pavement.I will be putting it back on with locktite and possibly a couple of tack welds.
