I found It looking for books with diverse characters for her age range. She loved the imagery and told me a parent died of cancer in the book. She didn’t tell me a character comes out as a lesbian because she wouldn’t think of that as something I would Say was inappropriate for her. Because it’s 2020 and it’s totally normal for people to be in consensual romantic relationships with whomever they please. I read The book also and thought it was good. Hoping there will be more in this series. I loved little women and will say if you’re a gown up literary purist this might not do it for you. Fantastic modern retelling. Yes, my daughter had questions about Jo's coming out, but they were age appropriate ones that I was ready to answer.
