This functions exactly as it should and as described by the photos. We love it. The only thing to know is that you have to buy a specific kind of incense. I believe they are called backflow. And the ones that come with the package itself do not smell good in my opinion.

I liked it so much I had to buy a second for myself. It is unique in it's design. I love the ceremic Buddha and the art of the piece, itself..The waterfall does not flow as abundantly as the picture shows, but I find that to be true for many backflow incense burners. Backflow incense is also hard to find, especially if you are picky about your favored scents as I am. And it was expensive. While I did remove 1 star for these disadvantages, I did like it well enough to buy a second.

The incense burner works just fine, but the incense cones that come with the burner are aweful. Remember Bertie's Botts Beans from Harry Potter? The jelly beans that taste like vomit, earwax, and bogies? These incense cones are the Berties Botts of incense- smelling like burnt bar-b-que, wet dog, and cheap shaving cream. It's a good thing they only last about 2-3 minutes total because once they stop burning that nasty odor lingers in the air until the following day. So order different incense with this burner and throw the ones away that come with it and it will be a nice gift.
