Bellwether Convertible Jacket

This jacket has been on several rides now and I have the following thoughts on it.I like how bright this is and that it does "tear down" to a vest for warm weather riding. Pockets are nice and roomy as well. It's fairly water proof in the downpours I've been caught in, and cleans up well with a light wash in the washing machine. The material is extremely light nylon, definitely not for any cold weather riding unless you're bundled up. Packs down pretty well, though a packable pocket would be nice.On thing that is pretty annoying about it is the sleeve zippers do not stay zipped up. I'll get done with a long ride only to find my sleeves half undone.Also, when wearing as a vest with a short sleeve jersey, the zippers tend to chafe under the arms if you're off your bike during a break, which is a mild annoyance, not noticeable while riding.

I only review when I have a very definite opinion and I very definitely love this jacket. It's perfectly fitted so there is no awkward flapping, but had just enough room to slide a sweater underneath for cool days. The vest/jacket conversion is well-designed: easy to do, sturdy and fully functional in both forms, and none of the connection points are put under stress, so I expect it to last well. It has none of the awkwardly-gendered fitting you often see with men's/women's versions of essentially unisex items, either being form-fitting and stylized to the point of absurdity or not taking into account at all the general layout differences of the torso; this jacket is as comfortable and unimpressed by the fact that I have breasts as I am.I use it for both biking and jogging, throw it in the washing machine when it gets smelly, and the hi-vis definitely seems to be working: during my nighttime bikes and jogs, cars avoid me with the overcompensation of a driver who feels guilty for not having driven thus far with appropriate safety in mind. A self-confessed cheapskate, this jacket is worth it.

For the price, this jacket is amazing. Sure, you can have a better jacket for 4 or 5 times the price. I am very happy to get this jacket for how great of a price it is. It keeps the wind out and is water resistant.First, having the sleeves removable is such a great feature. I ran with this jacket today. I started out cold, then got warm about 1 km into the trail. I was able to quickly remove the sleeves and stuff them into the back pocket. The removal was so easy I was able to keep running while doing it.The back pocket is zippered, which is great for keeping the removed sleeves, a small wallet, phone, and gels on a ride.When the sleeves are removed, the back has mesh sections for extra ventilation. Again, great feature for this price range.Lastly, I like the reflective piping for safety. There are also 2 zipper pockets for the hands.

Warm, great to start out in 45 degree, take sleeves off at 65 degree. I have long arms.. Bought a Large for more layering. Think a medium would have fit fine with one shirt too.

I wear the first one that I bought so much that I wanted to have a second in a different color. Multiple venting options are great for my climate. Also wear these jackets with my regular street clothes and also great for jogging - zip up pockets so no worries about losing electronic devices, money, keys, etc.. Washes great, no color bleeding so far, even with my first one which is bright red. The jacket rolls up into the tiniest space and I can layer one jacket over another for colder climates. I will buy a third one.

We were looking for a high visibility jacket for early morning walks. This jacket is exactly what my wife wanted with a bonus of easily removable sleeves for warmer days. It then becomes a bright vest.

The quality of this jacket was good but the lower half of the sleeves and the cuffs were too small. It made it extremely hard to take off. I'm small and my arms are not at all large.

Very nice jacket! Fits well.
