Hatteras Hammocks SWSC1T Steel Single Swing Stand, Taupe

I hemmed and hawed over this hammock chair stand. I compared a lot of reviews about other chair stands that were about $50 cheaper and decided, to go with this one--the circular base, versus the base that looks like an office chair made more sense to me. I'm very happy with my purchase. As I'm writing this, I've had the stand (and a hammock chair) for about a week, and I feel the stand is very sturdy as I swing in it. I am by no means tiny, and I feel absolutely secure hanging from this stand :) huzzah.I don't think it came with instructions for assembly, but I never looked because I didn't need them. All the metal tubing fits into itself using a button-feature, so everything just snaps into itself--no screws or tools needed. The stand came in a box that was battered in shipping, but who cares. I'd say the box--with all the pieces inside--weighed about 80lbs. The stand was fine, though, and easy to assemble, and came with an S-hook. Very happy with my purchase--looking forward to swinging away on the porch in the summer, and bring the stand inside in the winter.

I love it! very sturdy and safe feeling. I bought this for an apartment but the footprint for the bottom (circle) is about 5' in diameter making it dominate the room . I would only recommend for indoor use if you have a large space. Mine is currently outside :)

love the color. heavy and larger than I had thought it would be. Hard to move in/out of the house, but we do so because we had some rust on it after it was left outside for 2 rainfalls. we have a chair by the same manufacturer but it has the wood brace across and it's ok with this stand. the wood stand hits the sides when you turn. i don't believe this chair is meant to go with the stand, but it works nonetheless.

This is perfect for my cloud chair and it tucks nice in the corner of a room or can be moved outside.

Overall, the hammock swing is nice with plenty of ground clearance, which is ideal for someone with long legs. The round base does require a fair amount of space since it's probably about 5 feet in diameter. The only reason we chose 4 stars instead of 5 is because the powder coated finish came in all scratched to hell from shipping - we didn't feel like dealing with returns so we never complained to the seller. Also, the "S" hook was missing from the package.
