I'm a Roon user and I was looking for an inexpensive way to use an old cheapo Pyle amplifier and a pair of ancient BA speakers to listen in an additional room. By using this converter I was able to recycle an old first Gen Chromecast dongle to act as a Roon endpoint in the room. The setup includes the Chromecast dongle, this converter, the Pyle amp, and the speakers. I also purchased a two port USB charger to power the dongle and the converter since I only had one outlet left to power both. Worked the first time. The sound quality is more than adequate for the application. No need for video although if I want I suppose an old HD monitor could be used by Roon to display album art, etc.. Sometimes a cheap solution is the best one.

Purchased this a few months ago and is still working flawlessly. I have an old LG TV with the large box back but it works like a charm. So after my flat screen modern TV kicked the bucket after just a few years I brought the old one out of storage, but needed to be able to have hdmi capabilities which the old style TV doesn't. So a Google search informed me I could use an adaptor type device. So did my search on Amazon and this particular one stood out due to its price, good description, and great reviews. Came quickly and was easy to install. Picture quality is surprisingly really good. I'd definitely recommend and I would buy again

Product works as described. Converts HDMI to analog/RCA connectors. eg.) Can play a Blu-Ray or DVD player with HDMI output to an older TV/monitor with only RCA/analog input, however picture of course will not be as good as HDMI to HDMI. NTSC or PAL switch is also available. Must be plugged into AC outlet power (via USB) to work. Wanted to use this converter to plug an older CD player with RCA/analog output plugs to a newer Denon receiver with HDMI input, but does not work as analog/RCA to HDMI.

It takes HDMI as an input with up to 1080p video and outputs composite 480i video and stereo analog audio.This product did allow me to continue to use a rather old LCD TV that I used in a kitchen that only had analog inputs. I verified that it operates with both an older Amazon FireTV stick, and an HD Apple TV (4th gen). The device does not claim 4K support, and that was not tested. This TV is near a family room where a DirecTV receiver fed both HDMI to the family room TV and composite to the kitchen. I am going to migrate away from that receiver, and was looking for a solution to keep using the old TV. This older TV is also a 4:3 aspect ratio (as was typical) and not 16:9 of newer TVs.The video quality is acceptable, but not great. On a dark screen digital noise noticeable. The video levels look off, resulting in a rather dark picture. The same TV as noted above is connected to a composite source from a DirecTV receiver on another composite input. Comparing the same content from the two sources shows the composite output from the DirecTV receiver looks much better, and more correct. It is still useable, but not great. It is good enough to watch while eating at the kitchen table, so serves the purpose. This isn’t our primary display.Also referenced above is the aspect ratio. This device does not make any attempt to change the aspect ratio. Some devices will allow for zoom, shrink with top and bottom bars, or some non-linear scaling. This device simply fills the entire screen with the 16:9 content. This results in the display being “squeezed” with a 16:9 image squeezed into a 4:3 display. In our case we have been living with the same from the DirecTV source for years as we have the normal 16:9 mode selected for the primary display. Again, this isn’t our primary display.An interesting feature is that when there is no input signal, such as when the Apple TV is in sleep, this device outputs a color bar pattern and text that there is no signal.As has become quite common with devices, yet none the less annoying is that it does not come with a power supply. It comes with a short cable from the connector on the device to a USB A connector. You need to supply a USB charger/power supply or other USB 5V source. The Amazon page for a the device shows to use a 5V 1A charger. I used a charger rated at 750 mA with no problem. I know this is a low-cost device, I still find it annoying that it doesn’t come with a power supply required to make it functional. I have so many of these types of devices now that I’ve basically run out of the 5V chargers I’ve had around.The device does come with short output cables for composite video and audio. These may be sufficient for your application if you put the device right by the TV. These are short, roughly about 6 inches. In my case I needed a longer cable and had to use double-female RCA couplers to connect the cable. Jacks on the device would have been more convenient for my application.The device works, and mostly does what it claims to do. The video quality isn’t great, but is acceptable. Mostly due to the video quality, and a bit for the lack of included power supply I am only giving it a 4-star rating though.

The media could not be loaded. Edit: the display has improved immensely, I didn't even have to do anything. I guess it just needed like a day or so to get used to the setup? Idk. From 3/5 to 5/5. This thing has brought our tv into the 2020s. Awesome!I like how easy it was to install, just needs a power source plus a/v + HDMI connections. I plugged in my firetv stick to the hdmi and the A/Vs to the Mitsubishi projector TV jacks. The display is off, there's blinking/flashing lines on the screen and this happens continuously while the TV is on the fire TV input. I got this because the HDMIs broke on the TVThis works but not well. If anyone knows how to fix this please share.I like that despite the fact that the firestick is connected to the TV via A/V connections, the firetv remote still works to change the volume.

Product was defective. It never worked in HD, as was advertised, and it completely stopped working after about 30 minutes. Plus, the seller included a request to contact them directly if you were dissatisfied - I hate this, just send me a product that works in the fist place instead of making me go through extensive communication with you just to wait to receive a replacement item that may or may not work, and will definitely break after the return period has ended! I did a return through Amazon instead, much easier, and will be ordering a replacement cable from another company.

I converted a 1990 RCA TV, CRT..tube TV the size of a car engine to HDMI for a ROKU Ultra box.The picture is a little wonky, viewable though. Really it's just for noise, voices to sleep to.On your remote use the VCR button to view.Note: You will need to power this device. I used an extra USB/AC Adapter phone charger.
