It is really good quality and I haven't have any issues with them getting brittle from temperature swings either. I live in an area that gets really cold in the winter and really hot in the summer, so these see -20F in winter and up to ~140F in the engine bay during summer. These boots do stretch a little bit but that lug is probably a little large for this boot. **Q: will they fit 4/0 cable** A: The openings on each end are 5/8". The cable will fit through that but it may be tight with the battery cable ends and may require some trimming. **Q: Does fastronix make a boot that works with the high current 3/8" thru panel battery terminal connectors? i tried these , but they don't work.** A: I've used both those pieces. I ended up warming the covers for pliability, and stretching the boot around the terminal.
