The outside connector fits the spouts (gas not diesel) I have from plastic 5gal can too BUT, the threads are too short on the adapter, so it won't seal up. If you double gasket it, it will work too. I just wanted something I could pour clean into a funnel with, and this will work. Even better if I get one of the pour spouts to work. I saw a few comment that it didn't work on Specter cans. Again, this can has only inside fine female threads. and is older. Probably 15 20 years or more. Better option than getting a $20 or more like $45.000 screw in spout in my opinion. and for what I needed. Not perfect but I give it a 5 for the price. The product came with two gaskets, one flat gasket and one round gasket. Previously ppl were saying the round gasket was shortening the threads, I removed it and the flat gasket works perfectly. I have the plastic Spectre Military gas cans from 1990's and this worked perfectly.
