Worth the effort ....
On this DVD, Jeff Bowders (the phenomenal drumming presence behind recent Paul Gilbert releases) exposes us to his balaned approach to double bass work, which eschews the old RLRL sawhorse for a method that utilizes both feet equally. It's demanding at first, at least until your non-dominant foot wakes up, but once it does, the applications of this method are pretty amazing. Besides offering plenty of exercises to help equally strenghten both feet, Bowders also demonstrates this method in several musical interludes, all of which I, for one, would like to hear on a CD. There's plenty of helpful material on this DVD, and some if requires patience, but if you stick with it, your feet (and by extension, your double-bass playing) will thank you.

Not Worth The Money
The video was ok for what it's worth. It was geared for the beginner metal crowd. There were no sections on foot technique or how to use double bass tastefuly with single bass playing. The filming was not that great either. Being a doulble bass drumming video you would think that there would be a whole lot more of his feet playing than overhead shots and above the waist. Save your money and get Dom Famularo's Pedal Control and use it in conjunction with a teacher.

Item arrived promptly and is a well presented video.
On initial introduction this double bass drumming video promises to be very usefull, apparently providing a good range of drum patterns to train the drummer.Full benefit will no doubt come from following the guidance given and practicing regularly - time will tell! Some more specific training on seating position, balance on the drum throne and efficient positioning of the kit would have been an advantage, both for the beginner drummer and those with more experience but who perhaps have not necessarily developed the optimum seating/balance techniques and set up configurations.

Ottimo DVD
