Review: I don't need to shop for any other. - I decided to use "Dinner Candles" to improve the experience at dinner time with my dear wife, enhancing our focus and attention on each other. The idea was not mine (I read about it), but surely has a positive impact. This led to shopping for candles. There are far too many candle options in the world, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I settled on these as my permanent choice. Bolsius makes a good variety of candles. I tried, and very much like their taper candles; very pretty and dress a table nicely. After a while, I wanted to try their straight (not tapered) candles, so I got the 12hour candles. The straight candles are my favorite, though all, from Bolsius, seem to burn without dripping or stinking-up the place, as you can see in the attached photo. I don't want perfumed candles. I don't want to smell candles burning. I just want the feeling, focus and mood of candle-lit dinners. To get the results I get consistently, you need to... Mount the candles straight up vertically. Trim the wick to about 1/2" and keep it there, throughout the burn! Avoid drafts that stir the flame. Bolsius uses 2 different kinds of wax in their candles. The main fuel is the core of the candle. It burns as it should and slightly faster that the outside layer, which is a bit 'harder' and burns more slowly than the core (see photo). This layered method allows the molten wax to burn in a small pool, inside the harder outside rim and not drip. I mean NO DRIPPING in 12 hours of burn time... Awesome! Beautiful flame. No Stink. No Smoke (when trimmed correctly). No Dripping. No Brainer.

**Q: What is the diameter of this candle?**
A: This is not a taper. Generally straight sided although there is a very slight taper. I measured the straight section of one and its roughly 0.85" towards the top and 0.87" about an inch above the base. The base (roughly the last inch or so) then tapers down to roughly 0.75". Also, I have found these candles to be dripless and smokeless  Also, unlike other some other candles I have tried, the ivory color is through and through, not just a thin exterior coating around a white interior.

**Q: Dripless and smokeless?**
A: About as dripless and smokeless as any candles I've ever used.

**Q: i need this to fit in a 1.06 candle stick opening. Will this candle fit?**
A: It will be a loose fit because the diameter of the base is less than an inch.  However, the candles are phenomenal with very little if any dripping -- unless of course you set them in front of an open window.

**Q: What is the diameter?**
A: About 7/8 inch
