Good Value
It does not have a faint ‘burnt’ aftertaste that some ground turmeric can have which I assume is from over heating the rhizome during the grinding process. One of the better tasting turmerics I’ve bought.

I bought it because I wanted to make an experiment for myself during this pandemic situation. I like tempe but at the moment it is difficult to buy from groceries unless you go to an asian market. So, decided to make tempeh myself and ordered the starter from here. I made it successfully and am satisfied with my first trial.

Easy to deal with
The starter works perfectly every time and produces a great-tasting tempeh. I had an initial mix up with date stamps (my fault) with my latest order and Tempehtation UK dealt with it in a very helpful, friendly manner.

Great starter
Easy to use, directions on the website are clear. Have made many times, in a glass fish, wrapped in cling film with holes, in parchment paper, in a plastic box under a cake lid. All then out perfectly. One day I’ll get to making my one starter.....

Success first time
I hadn’t made tempeh before. Was experimenting with fermentation during lockdown. Used black beans instead of soya. The starter worked perfectly and the finished product got a thumbs up from my vegan mate. Next experiment with this starter will be with quinoa.
