Avoid this Bait-and-Switch
This is the first time I've felt deceived―more specifically, been on the losing end of an Amazon-hosted bait-and-switch. The ad clearly shows a Shuniu flask. I have and love my Shuniu flask, but what arrived was decidedly not that. :/This no-name flask looks mass produced. The bottom is just a bit uneven with easily perceptible flaws, and the mouth was more so. To add insult to injury, the stoppers reek of vulcanized rubber (think tire store), and there is no way I'd want those anywhere near something I want to actually drink.Trust me, and stay away. SMH

Great size, but slight deficiency
This thing is huge, and will easily hold 5+ liters of starter wort. It arrived extremely well packaged, wrapped in both foam and bubble wrap, then kept secure in the box with wadded kraft paper. My only complaint so far is a slightly domed bottom (-1 star.) Concerned, I put 5 liters of water in it and tested it with both a 1.5" Bel-Art F37110-0112 Spinbar Teflon Octagon Magnetic Stirring Bar; 38.1 x 8mm, White and 2" Bel-Art F37110-0002 Spinbar Teflon Octagon Magnetic Stirring Bar; 50.8 x 8mm, White ribbed stir bar. I got a good vortex, and could crank both up to max speed and not throw the bar, so at least I know it'll work with my homemade stir plate. I'll wait until I make my next big starter to see how well it performs with hot/cold wort as well as how accurate the graduated markings are, and will report back on what I find. Right now, I'm happy with it and the really great price.

It is big.
It is big. The one I got has a tiny bubble at the base, but it does not seem to be an issue as I was able to bring water to a boil. The walls are thick and robust. The black stopper has a weird smell so I got a size 12 white (ivory?) stopper which works a lot better. Much softer than the black one as well.I am very happy with this purchase, I may buy another.

Great big starter flask
This is my first flask, but the second time I have used one. This flask I nice and big, no boil overs on a 2000l boil. Nice cuz it can do full gallon starters for 10 gallon beer batches. I used direct heat both electric glass range and gas, put it directly into an ice water bath until cooled down to yeast pitching temps. The only downside is I could not get the bung to fit as the rubber was too stiff

Five Stars
Everything is as described. The last flask seems a little more robust (thicker walls) than the prior flask.

Mine has a nice flat bottom so a stir plate works nicely
Markings on the side are approximate and the more you fill the less approximate they become. Mine has a nice flat bottom so a stir plate works nicely.
