Beautiful and functional
Awesome pot. Perfect for mashed potatoes, small batches of soup, beans, boiling noodles, mac n cheese, etc. This replaced my "non stick" pots. It never sticks and I have no problems ever with a gas range. They do tend to discolor on the bottom from flame but I do not see this as a problem, I would change color too if you put me on there! The first few times you cook in these, do yourself a favor and make a soup or some ham and beans - something that you would not be able to get a hint of the smoky flavor that they put off on the first few uses. If you attempt vanilla pudding or making yogurt with a chamba pot for it's first cook you will taste a smoky flavor. I have 5 pieces and I will never buy non stick junk pans again! Clay and cast iron are the only things in my kitchen!

Superb product
Superb product. I also own La Chamba shallow roasting dish, and this Columbian clay makes for a stellar cooking vessel. Little by little, I'm migrating away from my stainless All Clad to cooking exclusively in clay, cast iron, and granite (dolsot) bowls.

Worth It
I love this pot. Using it makes me happy, seeing it on the counter makes me smile, cleaning it is no big deal. The rice out of it is worlds better than out of my Instant Pot, just earthy and discrete. So far I've made a wild rice blend, steaming broccolini on top, and a chicken stew (in the oven). I have an Italian dish (sweet and sour pork shoulder from memories di angelina) simmering in it right now on the stove. It's clay, and it won't last forever, but I will treasure it while I have it.Also, I highly recommend Tocque Blanc, the seller. Sometimes breakables won't get here in one piece, just a fact of online shipping, but this showed up intact. There is literally nothing that could have been improved on the packaging. It was in biodegradable peanuts, in a suitably sized box, secured very well with bubble wrap.

Makes great beans but seems a bit off from what it was advertised to be
Been using it over twenty times. Makes great beans. There are a few issues and I'm not sure if I would recommend it or try another pot.Used it once on a stove top. The color on the bottom changed from black to terracotta. I thought that the color was through the material as advertised and is not just aesthetics. Cleaning is not easy. I wash it, it looks clean in less than a minute and as soon as it dries it looks off again so I was it again, same issue. I was it once more before making the next batch. The lid is very loose so it's like leaving it a bit open for steam to evaporate. It takes me about 3.5 hours to make black beans in the oven at 350. Four or five cups, no presoak, added salt, onions, spices including fresh time and epezote. Squeeze an orange and leave the peel in the pot.Lots of water to the top. Put in the oven and start it. ( Do not preheat the oven). Add more water at 2.5 hours. Beans are vibrant black and they do not break down.

Great for stovetop gas cooking.
I love this pot. I use it to make beans and soups. I put it directly on the smallest gas burner and cook on medium low heat. It cleans up easily, just a short soak and swish with a nylon scrubbie. If anything ever happened to this one I would buy another. You can tell it is hand made and this just adds to the charm.
