Most collars rest on the strongest part of a dog's neck, giving them the leverage they need to take full control of the walk, and of you, too. The Pack Leader Collar is different. It keeps the slip collar at the top of your dog's neck so you can more effectively control and correct your dog during walks. Simply attach to a short leash (we recommend 36 to 48", or 91 to 122 cm), pay close attention to your energy, and give quick, firm corrections when necessary. To determine the proper collar size, measure the circumference of the throat at the base of the neck. Small 13" - 15" (33 - 38 cm) or for dogs weighing 20-40lbs . Medium 16" - 19" (40.5 - 48.25 cm) or for dogs weighing 40-75lbs . Large 20" - 23" (51 - 58.5 cm) or for dogs weighing over 75lbs. . Please note that this collar will not be suitable for dogs with short necks, such as pugs or bulldogs, or with long necks, such as Greyhounds. Please also note that this collar is designed to have your dog walk on your left side. Directions on how to fit on your dog will be included with the collar.

Works for my dog!
I havea 75lb Labrador and this large sized collar works well in my opinion. We were using the Gentle Leader Headcollar before but decided to look into other types of collars because the front part of the Gentle Leader headcollar would always dig into the top of his muzzle. It would become really apparent and raw red after a few tugs.In theory, this Pack Leader collar makes sense, it's just a collar that holds the nylon rope in position at the base of the head instead of the base of the neck. In practice, I feel it works much better than the Gentle Leader collar or any choke chain. This one holds the rope in place and doesn't dig into his muzzle. I like the construction of everything from the plastic buckles to the nylon and pads. It was a little confusing to put on at first but after a few times, it gets pretty easy. I didn't have to train our dog to get used to the new collar since it was very similar to all the other collars he's worn. During walks, it gives me a lot of control over him without worry. A quick tug to correct him before he gets distracted is all I need. I don't need to use as much tugging force as with the Gentle Leader collar.I can see why the instructions say it's best having the dog walk on your LEFT side instead of right. Look at the picture I attached, the way the nylon rope is assembled/arranged does imply you should have your dog on the left side of you. My dog is used to walking on my right side and I have no issues keeping him on my right side. The collar doesn't shift around much while I walk him though I do have to readjust his rolls of skin to be smooth when I initially put the collar on him. I keep him on a short amount of length of the leash to get better control. At first he was a little resistant but he got used to it by the second walk once you tune in the fitting of the top and bottom buckles.I think this collar works well as long as the human is disciplined and stays in command. I see a lot of people in my neighborhood just let their dogs walk on those retractable leashes or really long leashes. It just looks like the dogs are walking the humans instead of the other way around. As for the buckle construction, they're pretty sturdy in my opinion. Much more heavy duty than the Gentle Leader collar. The nylon rope and pads are thick and look like they could take a beating, washing and then another beating. Gentle Leader Headcollar

Amazing product
The product description didn't give actual measurements that I could find but fortunately I got the right size. They are listed on the package for the neck circumference:small 13 to 15 ", medium 16 to 19" and large 20 to 23 ".I have 4 well behaved dogs that I have trained well to walk with me. Recently my daughter got an Americam Bully . He is hyper so I started trying to walk him. Nothing worked. He pulled with a vest harness, choke collar, regular collar etc. This collar worked immediately. It is a little pricey but I got results that were amazing and it is well worth it.I read some reviews that described as having cheep clips. I didn't feel this was the case in my opinion. If you use the measurements posted above, it should help with sizing as I was unsure when I ordered.I can not thank Cesar enough.

Walks are enjoyable once again!
We have used this for a few months and got it for our 2-1/2 old German Shepherd who we have walked twice daily since she was a young puppy and despite our efforts, she pulls to some degree for the entire walk and if deer are within sight she will practically pull our arm out of its joint. We have tried numerous harnesses, choke collars, pinch collars, gentle lead, etc. With the Pack Leader Collar, she responds excellently and does not pull at all. When deer run-out close by, she pulls only momentarily. The best thing is that it does not seem to cause her any discomfort. Our only issue is that it will not stay up close under her ears and we have to stop a couple of times to readjust it. For that, I would give it a 4-1/2, but she was in between a medium and large so that could be the issue as we went with the large. But, it has been a Godsent for us & has made walks enjoyable again!

This collar works
This collar is terrific. When I put this on my dog, he knows he can't pull me. I used it on every walk when my ENERGETIC dog was younger and it was a total transformation, on the walks. He didn't even look at people he normally goes ape over. When I'd walk him without it, he was back to lunging and pulling, making the walk miserable for both of us.

Best collar I've ever seen
Exceeds my expectations. We adopted a 4 year old German Shepard that my wife couldn't handle until we got this collar. The dog is still "in training" but easily handled now and showing great improvement on walks.
