Really useful and educational
I most enjoyed trying alternate tunings that I would otherwise be too lazy to try. It tunes accurately and quickly. It’s a little complicated to learn but once learned it’s fun to use

Great tuning system, but replacement part(s) will REALLY cost you $$
First off, I'd like to say that this was really a great upgrade for me. It saves a lot of time and avoids frustration of manually having to tune each tuning peg by hand. I normally use standard tuning, but it's really nice to experiment with alternate tunings on occasion with a simple few taps of a button and pluck of the strings. Here's where my grumble begins: I had installed this on my Les Paul Studio back in December 2014. By the time June 2015 came around I was changing the strings and one of my pegs jammed up (internal mechanism) and I couldn't even wind it by hand. I attempted to take the individual tuning peg off that was giving me the issues and took it apart. There's basically a series of gears inside which are stacked up, along with a small motor. Long story short, I noticed that a few gear teeth had been damaged. "Not too big of a deal", I thought to myself, "I'll just order a new part". After all, I don't gig or anything and it's just a hobby for me. So I go to the Tronical online store (which I mind you, is based in Hamburg, Germany) and find that a new tuning peg is going to cost me $38.50. So I go to check out, and to my surprise, there is only one single method of shipping that they offer worldwide which soaked me a WHOPPING $30.00 for a peg which measures 2" in length at it's longest point and weighs about as much as a hamburger roll. Grand total for a single replacement RoboHead tuning peg: $68.50!!!!!I give the actual product very high marks for doing what it's expected to do, fast and accurate tunings so we can focus more on the music that we're playing rather than waste time on manually tuning by hand. I took one star off of this product because a tuning peg failed me within a half of a year. I took another star off of this product due to the insane costs of replacement parts and unacceptable price tag to ship it. They really do need to base one of their facilities here in the US, not just Germany, since these tuner systems are becoming increasingly more popular here. Many newer stock Les Pauls are even equipped with these systems stock from the factory.Overall, I still love the Tronical Tuning system and I recommend it.*UPDATE* - Since this review another tuning peg had failed during string change. These tuners are extremely delicate when LOOSELY tightening the string lock nut screws and the internal gears are like wrist watch gears and just break. The good news is that the cost of these systems and replacement parts have seemed to dropped. A year ago a replacement tuner cost me $38.50, currently they dropped in cost to $24.95. The bad news is that the company still refuses to base a company here in the US to keep the ridiculous $29 cost of a 7 oz package to be shipped from Germany to the US, this would likely cost $5 shipping if the company was here in the US. The Tronical site claims that the store is "international", which simply means they are based in Germany, but ship world wide. Oddly enough, it now costs more to currently ship this ($29) than it does for the actual replacement peg ($24.95). Go figure! We seriously need to work on lower cost shipping solutions (or US based stores/shipping centers) for customers to acquire genuine replacement parts. This is the biggest grumble of all, aside of the fact that the pegs need to be manufactured more rugged so they don't fail as easily. Overall, I still love the ease of the Tronical system for quick and precise tunings, but I'll be forced to keep my options open for a different tuning system or standard tuning pegs come the next time when I actually need another replacement part for the system.

Stopped working after four months!
Buyer beware! I purchased this product, and liked it very much while it worked. After four months it completely stopped working. Tronical Tune does not honor any kind of a warranty if you did not purchase directly from them. So I am left with a $350 paperweight.

Useful for recording
I don’t use this for gigging, but for recording, where you’re likely to cut corners in a rush to capture a feeling. This way, you can just press the button, and be assured you’re not wasting the take being tragically out of tune.

Made for gigging and for fun! Tune less. Play more.
No more multiple guitars for showtime! It's amazing! Keeping or changing your tuning is just a few buttons and strums away. Incredibly cool! Easy installation. No perceptible weight difference. This is a device of complete convenience, it has nothing to do with whether you "know how to tune a guitar" or not.Installation:The Type A tuners bolt on to the existing Les Paul hole pattern without modification. It comes with a dinky stamped wrench for the tuner nuts, but I recommend installing with a 12mm deep socket ratcheting torque wrench. I would tighten them little-by-little in a criss-cross pattern to ensure evenness. The specified tourque value is 1.5 to 1.8 N-m. Do not exceed this, for risk of damaging the tuner, or worse, your guitar. String installation is easy (half turn on bottom, pass thru notch, full turn on top, tighten string nut)My own personal advice:I'd also recommend putting a piece of heavy bond paper between the cpu board and your headstock to act as a cushion to protect your guitar. As cool as this gizmo is, your guitar will certainly outlive this tuner system so it's important to take care of the underlying headstock. You can trace the board onto paper then cut to size. Paper is good because it is very non-reactive. I've had no problems getting accurate tuning with the paper in place.A couple words of caution:Do not over tighten the string nuts. Thumb tight should be sufficient, even though the instructions suggest using a coin. Over tightening puts the tuner shaft at risk for cross-threading, which will destroy the tuner.Once installed, you should start with a calibration sequence. This will help ensure accuracy and reliability. Then pick your tuning and jam on!5stars! Totally awesome!
