I have extensive knowledge in networks and security cameras. This unit was VERY archaic in setting up and navigating thru the setup. Documentation was poor for translation into English and completeness. After a long time of figuring out the menu and data entry operation, it would not display the video or control for an AMCREST IP PTZ camera. It connected to the camera over the network but was unable to view or control. The specifications stated command compatibility with the camera but I was unsuccessful in viewing in controlling.

Okay, so perhaps there is something wrong with our setup, but the video does not display on the little screen. That would have been fantastic, but having a good controller was more important. So, after extensive testing in two different environments, albeit with largely the same hardware, we just connected a computer in front of the controller. Now, you can get the visual off of the monitor while using the controller to move it. This works really well for our location, but won't be for everyone if you are counting on the screen. For reference, we are using the SUNBA 20X Optical Zoom PoE+ Mini Outdoor PTZ Camera. The camera is sweet as well.

I still have not being able to set it up because the manual is hard to read and there is not a step by step tutorial to connect it or to setup it up, the one tutorial I found just shows from when the camera is already connected. But I like the way is built and the ability to connect to TV through HDMI, Thank you
