Used to vent my closet so it would stay cool. Works well. Nice quality and look. Easy to install just cut a square hole in the door and added a grate on both sides. Allows sufficient airflow.

If you somehow missed that in the pictures, as well as the description, and scrolled down to the reviews to see if this is what you need - I hope this note finds you well and provides clarity.It's just a cover.If you want to control the direction and flow of air, this is not what you're looking for. Keep browsing.If, like me, you have a 1950s house with weird vent dimensions and you don't want to cut holes in your wall or baseboards for this very simple upgrade, this is the vent cover for you. If you understand how dampers work and like wasting money, that's how you control the airflow. You probably also know how to turn the furnace down if it's really too hot, Goldilocks.Installs great. I was happy to discover that the screws are the same space apart as the original hardware. No wood filling or patching for this girl. Install took 5-10 minutes, tops.Looks great, a final touch to my recently renovated spare room. I'll probably buy again to avoid the same aforementioned unnecessary cutting and drilling. Reading the other reviews it's apparent people are confused about what this is.1. It is a return grille not a supply vent. If you want be able to adjust the flow you need to buy a supply vent. Those go on the openings the air comes out of.2. The dimensions for all HVAC covers is the size of the opening it will cover. The cover itself must be larger than that overall so you can screw it to the outside. If it was the same size it would be an "insert" and you'd have no way to keep it in.3. This is for a wall or ceiling, not a floor. It does not have to be stiff enough to walk on. This one is as heavy a gauge as anything else I have bought.Mine came undamaged and well finished. It installed simply with the 2 screws included. I really don't know how it could have been better. I think it's a great value for the price.
