I'm not sure if they are waterproof, probably not, but workable fixative will solve that problem if I want to add watercolors which I will soon try. Intense dark matte blacks without the shine of graphite, down to light precise lines. Like most traditional media, harder lead/lighter pressure is easier to erase. Very easy to blend and pick up without a lot of excess shedding.
