Premium 1st Cut Timothy Hay

We took a chance when our bun's favorite hay ran out and decided to try HayRabbit Premium hay instead. Shopping around for other hay brands in the past has been difficult because our bun really only favors one brand that she's been eating since she was a baby.Even though this hay cost a little more than the others, the quality is clearly a cut above. Our bun took to it immediately, especially when she saw there were tons of fuzzy seed heads. She's pickier when it comes to the actual stalks -- but surprisingly, she is eating them! Our bun really likes to toss away and waste a lot of hay pieces she doesn't like. We just accepted it as her rabbit habit. (i'm sorry, I had to.) With this brand, she actually looks like she's going to eat everything.Definitely recommend this brand to any curious rabbit parents looking to give their buns the best.

See my update below.The hay was in great condition when it arrived. Even a month ir so later, it is still in great condition. I kept it in the double box and it sits in a cool, dark area of my house. A landing between the basement and main floor. As Colorado basements tend to be cool and dry; it i a perfect place to store the hay.I give my gerbils a couple handfuls per day. They devour the see pods and chew the hay and use it t to mix in with the bedding, to use in their nest and even use it to help them store hoarded food. They use the hay to create layers to keep seeds intact in their food storage box I made for them.The gerbils managed to do a great job chewing up the hay, and aspen shavings, to make it great fro burrowing. By doing so, it makes it very easy to do cage cleanings. By the way, the hay gives off a nice aroma, and that si about all you smell in the gerbil glass enclosure. That, with a little hint of aspen shavings.It will take a while to go trough the hay, but the gerbils will certainly enjoy their daily fill.Update: I ordered the smaller 7 pound size, so I can get fresher hay and to not have it dry out.What I got was hay so dry, I could use it as a fire starter kindling.Today I checked the box I recent received; it was full of brown twigs and did not have any smell of timothy hay. It is as this box sat in a warehouse for months. I dared not give this to my gerbils, because I am not sure if there could be other issues like mites. I am not sure how I can get something that was as close to fresh cut as possible two months ago, and something so terrible a week or so ago. Whatever the case, I'd rather throw away the $24 I spent on this, than to give it to my gerbils. Also, I am concerned about quality control for who actually packed this and sen t it out.

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! We've tried many different hay companies for our picky Buns and have yet to find the quality and freshness as what arrived from HayRabbit. When we opened our cute box we were amazed at the fresh cut smell and visible difference compared to big box store purchases. With so few reviews we just took a chance. So happy we did and highly recommend.

Our dwarf did not like store bought grass, since it mostly broke down to small shred of grass, so I took to the net to search for better quality. This really is some nice grass and she loves it. The sheathes are long and sturdy with plenty of flowering heads attached to them.

It came fast and packaged well. It smelled so fresh. My bunny was excited before it was even completely open. The Hay was in such great shape. My bunny loves it. They also included a Timothy straw braided ball. He loves that too. Yes I will buy again.

I switched by bun over to 1st cut timothy after a bout with stasis because of the higher fiber content. I've tried 1st cut from several different companies as well as local farm stores and Tractor Supply. None were as high quality as this hay. It's very green and full of those fluffy tops by bun just loves. I will not purchase any other hay but this. It's a little pricier, but so worth it!

I didn’t realize how terrible the hay had been using from the pet store was until now! This hay is sooo fresh and the box is adorable! Plus it came with a little bunny toy inside.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This bunny was barely touching the oxbow brand the specialty pet store swore by. I bought him this, and I honestly cannot believe he’s eating this way. He has been munching on it, like you see in the video, for well over an hour now. It is an enormous box, and it also smells wonderful. It’s full of fluffy ends, and everything in the box is still green. I won’t have to try another brand.
