Best bike lock!
I was torn between buying this lock with an alarm or a different one with a light. I chose right! The alarm is loud and works exactly like it's supposed to. If you try to force it open or if the lock is moved without unlocking it first, the alarm will sound. The cable is thick and sturdy. And as an added bonus, the way it's positioned on the bike locks into place my son's water bottle holder that doesn't tighten enough not to slip around. Very happy with this purchase

I don't want it super sensitive because I have neighbors
I am using this to lock a gate to my yard where I park my motorcycle and it gets the job done. I have other alarms that are 100-110db and this is not as loud. Not sure of the exact distance, but from my bedroom there is a bathroom, another bedroom and then the gate on the front of the house. It is loud enough for me to hear it when it goes off when I'm sleeping. Maybe the other alarms are just louder than advertised.One negative wold be how sensitive it is, you might want that though. I don't want it super sensitive because I have neighbors. It was going off so much I turned the alarm off. I think this issue will be resolved once I fix this gate as well, the latch is messed up and it's being locked with only this cable so the wind can be setting it off. Once it's fixed and there is a latch I will try the alarm again. The other thing is that the coil is extremely tough to straighten, it always wants to roll back up. Maybe this is a normal thing for cable locks, but it's can very frustrating.Overall it's great for the price, normal locks without alarms typically sell for this much. I don't know how sturdy it is and hopefully I will never have to find out.

In our case, key lock is better than combination lock
This key lock works better for my son than the combinations locks. With the combination lock, somehow he manages to set a new code without knowing, and then when it comes time to unlock he doesn't know the combination. Twice in one year that happened. Now with this type of lock, he manages to keep the key in his pocket and can open it without any problem. Just in case 2nd key is at home. The alarm works and it's a nice option to not have it on.

A good lock overall really
A good lock overall really. Works just as advertised. My only complaint is that you cannot lock it without setting the alarm to armed, and if your bike wobbles due to the wind, it gets set off. Adding a remote to arm/disarm this would be a great help also.

I gave this to my son because his bike had been stolen because he was using a cheap bike lock and I read the good reviews about this lock and he was impressed because the alarm has working and setting up is quick and easy and now he has a peace of mind thinking that his bike has an alarm.

Love it!
Gotta say, I’m loving it! It gives me pease of mind! I use it in my sons gas powered trail bike that stays on the carport. The alarm is completely annoying & goes off as soon as it is jiggled or touched!

I really like having the alarm
I really like having the alarm, the only problem is the key hole is in a difficult place as it gets turned by the cable.
