Useful tools before heading to airport
I always take a lot when I go travel. I don't like the hassle to repack my stuff at the airport so I bought this scale. It is the second scale I bought (I have the same one before but it was not working due to the battery leaking the electolyte as I forgot to change the battery!! it is my fault not the scale!!)It is not the most space saving lugguage scale on the market and not the one of those fancy design one but it perform the main function - weight the lugguage accurately. Some people said that the scale is not accurate enough but I found that sometimes, it is the scale at the airport not accurate. When I try different scale at the airport, they all have a slight difference. Overall speaking, it is quite an accurate scale. It has a beep when it weighted the lugguage and lock at the reading, which is useful when you are holding a lugguage with 23+ kg.

great scales
a friend recommended this scale to me as a "must have" to save on overweight luggage, she was right. it's really accurate and easy to handle. I bought it for the return journey packing as I can never get the balance right when I don't have the bathroom scales to balance precariously on whilst holding on to the case and trying to read the display all at the same time when I pack at home.Hopefully it will save those "fingers crossed" moments as I wait for the read out on the airport scales to see if my case is overweight (again).I've tried it on a few items at home and it seems to work very well - I'm going away in March so I'll see how well it does then, but I'm sure it will be great.just an update to this review. back from holiday and the scales gave the same reading as the airport scales( that's never happened before). also lent them to a couple of other holidaymakers for their return packing and I think they will be buying them soon. so much better than worrying about paying excess baggage on the return journey. A great buy.

Balanzza Ergo Digital Luggage Scale
Right. You take out the tab so that the batteries connect. You press the on button (if the effort of taking out the tab and putting the batteries back didn't turn it on. You see a nice "hello" and the screen says lb. You press middle button and it becomes kilos. Attach the strap round the handle of your (filled up) bag and make the stance of a Olympic weightlifter. Now lift up the scales taking the weight of the bag. After a few seconds of trying to burst your blood vessels and knees a shakin' the device will beep at you and display the weight of the luggage. Bingo. It works a treat and is easy to handle and saves you faffing about at the airport when the check-in person says, sorry, your bag is too heavy. The Q is, do you pack it in the back so that you have it with you to check the weight coming home ?

Easy to use and very accurate
The benefits to using these scales are obvious. You can easily and safely check the weight of your luggage before travelling, then pack the scales to take with you and check that all of those souvenirs haven't pushed you over the limit at the other end. It also makes it possible to redistribute the contents of your cases to balance them out. Unlike some of the cheaper scales these ones are actually accurate too. Before using them properly I checked them against an industrial calibrated set, and also an accurate digital weighing scales at home ( Weight Watchers Designer Precision Electronic Scale 8987U ). When we got to the airports the weight matched exactly. On top of that they are comfortable to hold and seem to be strongly made.Since these scales cost less than even one excess baggage charge they've become a must have item. Recommended.

Great luggage scale!
This is a really useful item in these modern days of budget airlines charging enormous amounts on top of your standard air-fare if your luggage happens to way slightly more than the basic allowance.I have used this scale twice since buying it from amazon - once to go to Spain with Easyjet and once to go to Slovakia with Ryanair. On both occasions it proved incredibly useful, particularly on my return from Spain when it indicated by suitcase was over the 20kg limit. I adjusted my hold baggage / hand luggage accordingly and all was well.I made a point of checking the weight displayed on the check in scales on both of these trips and the number was exactly the same as the Balanzza scale had indicated. Top product and, being very light, isn't difficult to take away with you.

GREAT FOR TRAFFIC CONES - BETTER THAN THE BATHROOM SCALES
Having spent an interesting evening trying to weigh our luggage before we flew to Gibraltar for our wedding, I decided that we'd be having a set of proper luggage scales for the next time we flew.Had a good look round & compared various types & ended up with these. Easy to use, lightweight (so you can check how much you've bought whilst you've been away) & accurate. Used them when we went away next time & much easier to use than the bathroom scales. They do have other uses as well - I've used them a few times for weighing large parcels before they go down the Post Office. I've just used them at work for weighing traffic cones to make sure that our vehicle is not overloadedExcellent!!

The Balanzza seems robust and is ergonomically designed for easy handling, with the read-out screen uppermost for easy ...
Weighed my empty luggage case, rated by manufacturer at 3.1Kg. The Balanzza showed 3.05Kg consistently, the difference being insignificant and suggests that the luggage case manufacturer gives a higher figure to be on the safe side. The Balanzza seems robust and is ergonomically designed for easy handling, with the read-out screen uppermost for easy reading. And one needs only to lift the luggage from the floor a couple of inches to read the weight, which stabilizes and beeps after a couple of seconds.

New style makes it easier to use
This is an excellent product, saw it being demonstrated on a shopping channel but as usual Amazon came up trumps pricewise. With airlines charging if you are as little as 1 kilo over with your baggage this little gadget will pay for itself in no time. It is easier to use than some as it is horizontal so you can use both hands to lift the item, it then beeps (very quickly) to let you know you can put the item down, and the weight is displayed on the very clear screen, ingenious. It is small enough to pack and take with you you, so you don't get stung on the way back.
