These swivels worked great to fix the swivels on our bar stools that had become wobbly. We searched for new bar stools because the swivels on ours were so wobbly that the stools were becoming unsafe. Since we couldn't find any bar stools that we liked as much as the ones we had, we decided to fix them. We ordered 4 of these swivels and purchased upholstery fabric from a local fabric store to update the seats. For about $125 (swivels and fabric), we have four 20-year old barstools that look and work like new. The swivels are solid and work well. We are happy with them.

Great sturdy product that provided a quick efficient solution to a bar stool with a worn out return spring mechanism. Very easy to install. Would have been very expensive to replace an entire bar stool set because they’re no longer available. Instead we replaced a simple part.

Was easy to install, was a direct replacement. Wish it was painted.

You need two people to install but once installed it works great and is very sturdy!

Terrible design of this product and modification to your chair base will be necessary. The bolt in the middle of the swivel sticks up about an 1/8th of an inch and will not let the chair sit flat. I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the seat for it to sit properly. Other than that, it works well. But just be prepared to do additional modifications to get it to work.

This swivel was the only swivel I found to replace the cheap ones on the Frontgate swivels that came on the stools. The swivel needs bolts since originals had them installed in swivel. With 1.5 in bolts, washers and new wing nuts the units are much better. This swivel has a protrusion nut that requires a .5” hole drilled in stool base but once done these swivels are much better than old ones. After calling Frontgate and finding that no parts are available I researched Amazon at their suggestion. This work but you need some tools and some mechanical aptitude but these swivels saved us from pitching 1 year old $500 barstools!

Good quality but no directions included and there is no good way to lock the swivel to the seat while you turn it 45 degrees to be able to screw it to the seat. Small metal teeth to grab the seat would be helpful.

I replaced all 4 swivels on our upholstered bar stools. These swivels are much sturdier, and are more stable when turning. Our old swivels began to rock and eventually stopped retuning to their set position. No sign of that happening with these swivels.
