We first checked it out from our local library on a whim, but my daughter (almost two) liked it so much that we went ahead and bought it. Besides the fact that my daughter likes it so much, I love this book for the following reasons: 1. It shows just the right amount Some potty books just go too far in how much of the body they show and it's just awkward to me. Then there are other potty books on the other end of the spectrum that have kids wearing underwear while they're sitting on the potty. Not helpful when you're trying to teach a little one how to use the potty. This book shows just enough to be helpful and instructive, but there are no awkward moments in pointing things out on the little kid in the book. And because it doesn't show any private parts, it's great both boys and girls! 2. The story is funny and true to life Both my daughter and I love all the funny faces the kid in the book makes. She'll copy the faces all the time and it cracks us up. She also thinks it's funny when the kid forgets to take off his diaper before he sits on the potty. I think, even though it's just something silly, it's also something she can really relate to and understand. 3. The artwork is charming The illustrations are simply charming. They have lots of great color and they're easy for my daughter to understand. 4. It's really engaging We've checked out several potty books from the library for my daughter who's almost two. She's shown interest in a lot of the books, but not for as long or as much as this book. It's truly made her excited to use the potty and wear panties. Half the time I think she just wants to try and go on the potty so she can read this book. Hopefully this is helpful if you're looking at buying it online and haven't been able to flip through it before. We love it!
