It smells like a cheap kirkland coffee that has slightly burned. It doesn't smell like an expensive coffee by itself! But definitely, IT IS A SMELL OF COFFEE with nothing added, and the scent kind of lasts for days. I surmise to make it smell like expensive coffee I should mix it with other aromas myself. Like oatmeal cookie dough oil alone smells like top notch cappuccino and not like a cookie. If I mix that with this coffee... Now it smells way better than Starbucks store!!! There are other sweet scents I can mix it with like: Caramel, Cafe Vienna, even a little of pumpkin patch (but very little so no one could tell it was ever added, while altering the scent slightly) to make it more confusing & exotique... Each of those additional scents are only $7 on amazon for 30ml!Here's the trick. If you tell someone this smells like a cheap kirkland coffee. They will smell it and agree with you. But if you tell them this smells like a pure brazilian brewed fresh coffee... They would smell it and agree with you too!

I absolutely love Plant Therapy Oils! I have several and love them all. I just received my order of coffee essential oil today and have found that it smells a bit like burnt coffee when you sniff the bottle but doesn't really have much of a scent at all while being diffused. I was hoping for more of a "fresh brewed coffee" scent but didn't get that with the diffuser. There are a lot of therapeutic skin recipes using coffee oil though, so I'm looking forward to giving them a try. Coffee essential oil is a very thick oil and I know that a lot of reviewers here voiced problems with getting the oil out of the dropper. If you submerge your bottle of oil in a coffee mug filled with hot tap water for just a minute or two, it will come right out of the bottle, one drop at a time with no problems. If you are concerned about the bottle label coming off, just place the bottle into a zipper sandwich baggie first and then submerge the whole thing. Worked perfectly for me. Hope this helps with the oil thickness problem.

I just opened my bottle of 100% pure “COFFEE” essential oil 30ml . The scent is SO super amazing, it literally smells like strong fresh brewed coffee. It smells like the filter in a coffee pot after the brew- but in a completely good way. Anyone saying it’s scent isn’t that potent must have sinus issues, because my friends call me “the blood hound” because I can smell everything & anything, good & bad and this scent is strong & as I keep boasting- AMAZING!!!! If you’re like me, & searching Amazon for the best , most potent scent for the best price well trust me- stop your search, you’ve found it. You won’t be disappointed. I’m going to use this in mixing customized hair care and lotion scents, as it is therapeutic grade. Hope this helps those like me who rely on customer feedback to help with purchasing decisions.

Totally in love with my newfound oil!! This smells just like a fresh brewed cup of black coffee when I add it to my oil diffuser. I've been mixing it with my essential vanilla oil to give it a little bit of a coffee shop scent In my essential oil aroma diffuser( I will probably mix it with cinnamon, clove and maybe even peppermint oil just to get some different blend variations going in the future). It's not a weak smell but it's not too strong either. It definitely does not overpower. I like to use this particular coffee essential oil in my diffuser early on in the day when I'm trying to wake up and have that wake up scent floating throughout the entire house. This definitely gets me going!On a side note it did clog up the tip just a bit so I had to remove the overpour cap and stick a safety pin in there to unclog it because the oil is quite thick. It is also quite dark so be careful when dispensing this oil around your clothing. I will continue to use this oil and will repurchase as necessary.

Smells exactly like coffee. Some of the reviews I read mentioned that the oil came out slowly. It is a thicker oil, but it comes out just fine. You just have to be patient when tilting the bottle over. Actually I like that it comes out slower then I can actually count the drops; some of the other oils come out so fast that it is almost like they pour out. I am very happy with this product.

Wonderful coffee smell! Other reviews mentioned a burnt smell but I did not experience that at all. I bought this essential oil to make a serum. It blends wonderfully with Rosehip seed oil and a few drops of vitamin e oil to make a homemade anti-aging serum. The only issue is that the oil does not come out easily from the dropper. I simply pop off the dropper and just pour it out. This oil is thick so that may be another reason it's difficult to use it directly from the dropper. If you love coffee and the smell of coffee you will love this oil!

Super thick so it builds up in my diffuser quick, which i would overlook if it smelled... at all. DOES NOT SMELL LIKE COFFEE. Smells more like chocolate or something sweet. When I open the bottle I can smell it, but as soon as I drop it into my small diffuser (I did about 10 drops for extra potency) I couldn’t smell a thing. I tried for about a week and now it’s just sitting on my desk. Don’t waste your money. I love anything coffee scented so i tried this instead of expensive candles and this fails.

We wanted this to diffuse with cinnamon essential oil. Together they smell awesome. My living area has the inviting scent of a coffee shop. I read that i'm diffusing antioxidants at the same time with this one. That has to be good.

One of the pleasant smells in life is Coffee and Coffee essential oil is a must have.Smelling straight from the bottle gives a nice strong coffee smell.Tried it in a diffuser and it does disperse but seemed the smell didn't last long. Either my nose got use to it or maybe need a bit more oil or stronger diffuser. Still great product and must have for coffee lovers

I used this essential oil to make an exfoliating coffee soap bar and people really like it... good product

When I tried to use this in my diffuser it curdled and left chunks in my diffuser. Not impressed.
