The Rusty Roof Satin Black Picture Frame-Solid Wood, 6x6

Well made, unique sized frame, and arrived sooner than expected.

I have two signed prints that I've been dragging around with me for 25 years, meaning to get them framed, but at over $100 each for frames, they have been sitting in my closet. The size of these prints is 12" X 12", and though it was fairly easy to find mats for them for under $5 each, the frames were a different story. With the matting, my prints became 14" X 14", and the only frames I could find were at my local frame shops and since there were two, they said they would "discount" the price so that the total would be $265 at one place and a mere $225 at another place. It's not that I'm cheap, really, it's just that my dad worked at a frame shop for many years and he used to tell me about how much they marked up the prices on simple frames so that they could sell the more ornate frames for a "better" price. It's really kind of a conspiracy if you ask me. All I wanted was simple wooden (not plastic or fake wood!) frames to put these prints in. After much searching, I finally found the Rusty Roof here on Amazon, and I am sooooo glad! The frames are real wood, well-made, and come with the glass, backing, and tabs to hold everything in. They also came with the hanger installed, and they were packed really well - not a scratch anywhere! And the best part was the price! For less than $50 including shipping, I was able to acquire frames for my prints that are perfect! I have several more signed prints, so I will definitely be back - thank you!

In less than a week, the hanging piece that holds the frame up to hang fell off, braking the frame. In my order, I ordered a total of 4 satin black frames based on the reviews. The Satin Black Picture Frame is a very simple basic black frame, like something you would find at IKEA. It's not beautiful and it won't stand out, it's VERY SIMPLE. If you want something more than basic, I would find a different style. Besides aesthetics, here is my opinion:Pros:-Frames are well crafted.-Frames are perfectly sizedCons:-Very simple and basic, not "beautiful" like described by other reviewers.-The hanging piece- on two of the four frames I ordered, a hanging pieces was provided. On two of them, the hanging piece was already on the frame. For the ones you need to install, it's a simple one you hammer into the frame, no instructions are provided. I hammered it in all the way on the two frames that need it. It's been less than a week and on one of them it has already come out and the frame fell to the floor and broke. This is really frustrating, because to prevent this all that needed to be provided was for them to install to hanging pieces on two sides like most frame companies do. It would save a consumer like me a lot of frustration and now the cost of getting a new frame. It's a very inexpensive thing they can provide do to ensure the frame doesn't fall/break. It seems cheap and almost sloppy to not just install hanging pieces on two sides of the frames, that seems standard on every other frame I have purchased from other companies in the past.

The fit and finish of the frame is excellent, and it's got a wonderful solid feel to it since it's made out of real wood rather than particle board, but it has some of the worst mounting hardware ever. All it comes with is a set of metal brackets that you have to hammer into the frame yourself. It was a nerve-wracking experience trying to ensure that you didn't damage the frame or bend the bracket.My advice would be to install your own mounting hardware. It's all solid wood, so I'll probably end up affixing a proper wire to it.

This picture frame feels like you could drop it off a two story building and have it survive. Very well build and sturdy.I've purchased two of these picture frames and I have not been disappointed.The only slightly annoying thing is having to install the wall hanger yourself, but that isn't too hard.Especially if you pre-drill some small holes to fit the bracket into. And the bracket stays in, I don't think I could take it out if I tried.The frame looks beautiful with any style picture in it, the picture could be elegant or simple and still look great in this frame.I can tell you never will I buy a frame somewhere else.

I bough a small picture and had it signed by voice actor, its been sitting around since September of last year because 6x6 is an odd frame size. I looked everywhere for something that looked like and was this size with no luck.This frame was a god send, the wood around the glass is sturdy and nicely stained and the glass fits perfectly into the grooves. Putting the picture into the frame was really easy and it hang's really well. I would recommend this to anyone because it is worth the money. It arrived on time and was packaged well!

When I first received my frame, the box was crushed and one corner of the frame was damaged. I notified the vendor and they were able to ship me a replacement right away. Thank goodness for FedEx claims. All in all, the product was perfect for my needs and I highly recommend ordering from them again.... good job, Rusty Roof............ Thanks.

My wife bought these frames for some unusually sized prints. Amazon was the only place she could find the right sizes without having to mat the pictures. The frames are good looking, solid and easy to use. She is delighted with the product and glad that they didn't cost a small fortune. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a classic picture frame...oddly shaped or not. I give if five stars, easily.
