Review: Great leak detector for flamable gases - I've been using this leak detector for a couple of years to detect natural gas, propane and hydrogen leaks. It has been very reliable and accurate. It can quickly detect even the smallest leaks. Because it tells you the amount of gas detected in ppm, you can zero in on the leak. I always recommend it to my friends for leak detection in their homes or RVs.
Review: Failed when I needed it most - So i had a gas leak. It was smelling gas in my basement. The gas company came and identified the joint in the copper pipe that was leaking and closed the valve to the fireplace. I decided I would get myself a detector too and purchased this one. It arrived and I proceeded to test the copper pipe after opening the valve. Sure enough it was beeping and showing on the LCD a high range. Closed the device and called a plumber to fix the leak. The plumber came a week later with soap but was not able to see the leak. So I told him I had this gas detector. Turned it on, waited for the warmup period and then started looking for the leak. Nothing. It was showing zero. Surprised I took it to the stove-top, opened the gas and to my surprise - big fat zero. It is like this detector worked once and died. This is the most dangerous thing as it can give you a false sense that there is no leak.
