WMYCONGCONG 3 PCS RS26 4P12T 4 Pole 12 Position Selectable Band Selector Rotary Switch with Knob

These are very flexible use switches. Each switch comes with a tabbed washer see picture that you can place to configure the switch as a 4P2T, 4P3T, or 4P4T switch. The switch body is plastic (four stars instead of five stars for sturdiness) though I do not think this will be a problem for light use. The connections are pins which are great for wire wrap and very easy soldering.My only suggestion is consider using a larger diameter knob, or a knob with a skirt. The switch body includes a post that you are supposed to use to lock the switch to chassis (by drilling a matching hole in the chassis) to prevent the switch from rotating. However, the included knob does not cover the hole in the chassis for this post. Since the body is plastic you can easily cut this locking post if you prefer.

4P12T or whatever - sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. See my pictures to understand what you get here. Yes, there's a washer that can stop the rotation early at some point. In other news I have no idea how one can get 12 distinct configurations out of this.

Decent rotary switches that work as intended. 12 potential positions, in groups of 3, each group connecting to one of the 4 inputs/outputs. If you connect all 4 poles together, it can be used as a normal 12 position switch. The motion between positions is satisfyingly stiff, though this means they can be somewhat difficult to move unless they're mounted someplace sturdy.

Configuration's likely a challenge for novice makers (I attached a pic "mapping" the pins to the ABCD poles), but I found these have worked well for switching feeds from 2.5mm 4-pole rear dash cameras. The thin metal knob cap fell off readily, but I've since hot-glued it and it's worked well as a whole. Recommended for inexpensive DIY.

Note: these are not 4p3t. They are 4 pole 12 position. Each pole connects to one of three pins, but the sequence repeats 4x. For instance 123123123123 . It doesn't stop at the 3rd position, you can rotate it all the way around. I also had the back pop off while installing the knob. I fixed it, but if you aren't handy with springs and ball bearings you may have difficulty.

Worked out great for my application. Don't take too long solder g though, or the tabs will fall out...whoops.

I soldered a wire to one of the pins and the plastic base melted causing the terminal to flop around. To the trash. I'll be looking for one made with bakelight instead of soft, meltable plastic.
