For over 100 years, Rit fabric dyes have earned an excellent reputation throughout the world and have also been awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. Pilgrim Dye Colors sells all 33 Rit Core Dye colors, over 500 Rit Blended Dye colors, all 12 new DyeMore fabric dyes and over 150 blended DyeMore colors for synthetic materials. Pilgrim Dye Colors purchases full strength Rit liquid dyes in bulk directly from Rit and blends them to specific Rit color formulas. Rit All-Purpose Liquid Dye will dye washable fabrics containing natural fibers such as cotton, linen, wool, silk and ramie. Rit dyes cotton, silk, wool and rayon best. It can also dye nylon and rayon. It does not dye polyester well, but works fine for polyester blends so long as they’re less than 40 percent polyester. If you wish to dye synthetic fibers like polyester, acrylic or acetate please purchase one of our 175 additional Rit DyeMore colors. To obtain the best results we recommend using the stove top method of dyeing using a stainless steel pot. Empty the amount of dye indicated on the bottle into a large empty pot, pail or plastic kitchen sized garbage can. Slowly add very hot water to your dye water container stirring thoroughly. Soak your fabric in hot water before dyeing it. Your fabric MUST remain totally, loosely, submerged in the dye water during the entire dyeing process to obtain a uniform color throughout! Stir the fabric frequently for 15 to 60 minutes or until your piece becomes the darkness that you desire. Shorter periods of time will result in more of a pastel shade while longer periods result in deeper stronger colors. Rinse your fabric in running cold water until the rinse water runs clear. Hang to dry or dry in a cool clothes dryer.
