This is quite a bit smaller than the picture makes you think. If you have a large cat, don't get it. Luckily, I have a rather small cat and she fits on it perfectly. I did have to spread some catnip on it when it first arrived to peak her interest, but she's been using it steadily ever since. It seems to be holding together pretty well. Some just fall apart after a few uses; this still has a lot of "scratchability" left in it.

I've purchased a lot of cat scratching solutions for my cat, some of them for a lot more money than I spent on a couple of these. For whatever reason, he likes this one. I did spray it with catnip, but even though he's longer than it is... he likes to hang out there and every time he comes in the room he uses it. They include some dry catnip. Don't use that. It will fall right through the cardboard and make a mess on your carpet or floor. It lost a star for that reason alone. My cat doesn't care about the ball/toy at all. Yours may feel differently.

We got this scratching pad when we got a 3-month old kitten, knowing that he would need something for claw-sharpening (other than us!). He really likes it -- and the bell-ball built in makes it even better. He's managed to lose just about every other ball that comes his way (by which I mean he has batted them under a table or otherwise hidden them), but the fact that this is part of the scratch pad means it doesn't get away.It's pretty sturdy, as such things go, but he IS only a small kitten. Even though, now that he's teething, he's doing his best to chew through it!This is a good value for the money.

Our cat is a grouch and doesn’t like to play with his toys often, ignored his cat tree, and scoffs at scratching posts while opting to claw up the couch or his surroundings; however, he has loved this scratching pad! The only problem we had with it is that he was able to remove the ball within two days of getting it, but he still loves and uses the pad itself and just tosses the ball around the house.

My cats had no idea what to do with this. I gave them a 3 day tryout and then sent it back.Updated 2/25/18 I originally gave this product 1 star. That was not fair. The product is well made and will be great for cats who aren’t dense like mine. My two just couldn’t figure it out. That’s on them not the product.

Two of the the 13 year old cats love these but one in particular spends a lot of time on it. He uses it for scratching but it’s his chaise lounge where he lays over the high side like its an arm rest. I searched for a while after my local store stopped carrying them and was happy to finally find the same thing at a great price!! Shipped very fast as well.

My cat loved this right out of the box, and has been enjoying it every day since Christmas. With other "scratching" products I've bought for him in the past, he wouldn't use them for months. But this one, he loved immediately.

My little guy loves it! I would recommend getting this, it’s cheep and fun. I will say it lasts very long. I’ve had it for about a week now and it’s still hasn’t broken so that’s another plus!
