Not an enjoyable read even though it contains some good information. Every page has multiple editing errors. There are extraneous letters scattered throughout, sentences that are cut off mipoint or don't make sense. It's only worth skimming through and not worth an in depth reading. Very sloppy presentation.

This book is a joke. The grammar, punctuation, etc., must be the work of an illiterate person. There are sentences that are incomplete...they begin but don’t end. It’s a total waste of money and I wouldn’t recommend it at all. Makes it difficult to learn anything because of all the errors in it.

I liked the instructions and the explanations on how it will work and interact. It is easy to read and understand. I have not yet received my Echo, comes tomorrow. I so happy I could read all this information ahead of time. I can't wait to get started with the Echo.

I bought this book after receiving an Echo for Christmas. The unit did not come with an guidance manual, just basic set up instructions on the box. So this book filled in some of the gaps and gave a broad overview of what the Echo can do. However the grammar, spelling and use of idioms suggest that English is not the writer's first language. It would have benefited from editing and spell checking. Future iterations of the guide, if they are targeted at UK readers, would benefit from UK compatible services.

I am pleased that I bought this book, where there is so much information about Amazon Echo, a description of the functions, features, benefits. The Amazon Echo allows users to a variety of items that normal do not operate in the hands free realm. The Echo does not operate on any batteries and simply uses a power adapter. I like that the size of the device does not affect its overall ability to perform. Thanks for this guide, where I read about how to better use my device and how best to give goals to the team and other things.

This book has to cater for beginners'; experts; and people of differing needs, and dispositions.ANALAGY. When you take driving lessons you start in a leaners car and must expect to crash gears to start with. Once you have mastered the basics, those same skills are honed in your racing car. So with Alexa. Your French instructor may not speak perfect English but if you understand him are you bothered?Anyone can live without Alexa, but I am glad I bought one, AND GLAD BOTHERED TO BUY THIS BOOK.

I'm not sure whether the authors first language is English of this was translated by a 3 year old ? . It was certainly never proof read by anyone with a grasp of English before it went to print. Either way quite possibly the worst book ever. Certainly with regard to a 'Beginners Guide to Alexa' . Tells you lots of what its capable of and zero about how you configure the device or how to do them. I'm pretty tech savvy but am now endeavouring to find a publication that caters for first time Echo / Alexa users. Avoid this one like the palgue.

Very helpful,but I made the mistake of buying kindle edition & I’ve found for a manual it’s better to have an actual book to look at.

This is a good book for echo and echo dot owners, whether new or experienced. You'll be surprised at how much Alexa can actually do. Loads of example questions - some of which give funny and surprising responses. Definitely worth a read.

Interesting read. Very informative. They should include this book with the echo when you buy it. Love the idea of the Easter eggs and have had my kids asking Alexa all sorts that I wouldn’t even have thought of.

There are web articles that cover 99% of what is in this book. The other 1% is just waffle.

A lot of the entries are not applicable for the British consumer, apps mentioned are not available in this country.

If you want to get the best out of your echo, get the book that will give you up to date information about your device. I got this book free, so what's not to like?

The speed it reacts to your question I am 81 so my music is back to the 50s but a request is there in seconds for me a bit of a plaything but I find it amazing and useful
