Deadpool (Volume 1)

Finally the Marvel Now relaunch of Deadpool by Posehn and Dugan has gotten a quality hardback release. This release contains the first 12 issues which make up the first 2 story arcs: Dead Presidents, and Soul Hunter.This release also contains some good extras: It looks like they've included all the fan mail submissions from all 12 issues which are totally worth reading. They've also included the script for the hilarious throwback issue #7, that issue has become a fan favorite so it's really nice of them to include that. There is also a small variant cover art gallery, and for you AR app users there is an index in the back of the book that tells you on what page each AR icon is located on, so now you don't have to worry about missing any of them.If you've been a fan of Deadpool for years, no worries, he's still the Merc we know and love, and if you're new to Deadpool's mad crazy world then this is a fine place to start.Party Time Fruit Liquor: It's like a hug in every chug.

If you still havent read the marvel now deadpool you should buy this one it collects the first 2 volumes or the first 12 issues of deadpool and it's awesome not the best deadpool but still awesome and the hardcover is beautiful

This is a great series, if you are looking for a good way to get introduced to Deadpool before the movie this is a good place to get started. This is the first volume of the current Duggan-Posehn run of Deadpool and it is a lot of fun.

Graphics are great. The pages are thin compared to other graphic novels I have purchased.

I bought this as a gift after buying the same issues in separate editions. It's funny, has some nice Big Lebowski references, and was a great introduction to the character after loving the movie and being unable to get a hold of the Joe Kelly set.

This book is fantastic. The president story is a little slow in the end but the art of Tony Moore makes up for it. It's really not often that I find myself laughing out loud at a comic book but this one did it a few times.

After Joe Kelly, Brian Posehn is the best writer to pick the Deadpool series up. His stories are amazing and really fresh, he gives the character new depths in humor. This particular edition (hardcover) is beautiful, highly recommended!

Before I begin this book review I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to myself. "I'm sorry." I promised myself I would never write a negative book review, because writers have enough critics bouncing around in their heads without me coming down on them too. "Look out below.!" (Jumping with booth feet) "Did that hurt?" Good, because this book starts out with Abraham Lincoln's ghost shooting Deadpool in the head while proclaiming, 'I always wanted to do that.' Yes it's that Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, who was shoot in the head during a theater performance while seated beside his wife. The president who struggled to hold the union together during our nation's long and bloody civil war.Other dead presidents show up later in the story John F. Kennedy who while serving as the 35th president of the United States was also shot in the head while seated besides his wife. A man who struggled against an escalation of the war in Southeast Asia, and who while acting as president of the United States miraculously managed to avoid a third world but whose ghost seems only interested in murder and molesting women. Presidents Truman, Washington and Roosevelt also show up in the story only to murder zoo animals, threaten to overthrow the legitimately elected government or run Deadpool over with a wheelchair.I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression, I have noting against humor or criticism directed against men who are dead and who have been elected president of the United States. Presidents like everyone else make mistakes and like everyone else they are subject to contradictory emotions and logic however.... if the writer of Deadpool is going to do political humor maybe he should watch John Steward of 'The Daily Show' or Steven Colbert of 'The Colbert Report' or The Fox News Network to see how the serious business of governing can be made to look ridiculous.I am going to award the anthology two stars because I liked the book covers which I think are imaginative and funny, it's too bad I can't say the same for the stories.

I bought to replace the one my boyfriend had that someone borrowed and ruined. It came quickly and was much cheaper then I could find anywhere else.

Hilarious book. Imma DP fan till the end.
