Leviathan Paperback – December 23, 2011

If your buying a copy of Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan you probally already know what you are getting into so I will not bother describing that, but instead will relate the merits of this particular version.Pros:It has large font and all the paragraphs are nicely spaced.The book itself is large enough to lay it down anywhere and read it but not too much to be unwieldy.There is also plenty of room to write notes on the side.Cons:The only major issue I had with the book was coping with some of the language/wording. This isn't the fault of the book but it would have been nice if they had perhaps some footnotes giving some context or explanations.

The book itself is a masterpiece, but the digital format leaves a lot to be desired. No page numbering. Also, the digital version failed to make subheadings bold and separate from the rest of the text. This may be difficult to understand for people who have never read Leviathan. Because the language is already so archaic and dense, making subheadings obvious is an absolute must.

Levitation by Thomas Hobbes is not easy to understand. It is an interpretation of Christianity. I really can't figure out which denomination of Christianity he advocates. I recommend this book with reservations.

Leviathan itself is great, but this edition basically offers nothing more than a webpage does.

A little hard to get into, but the ideas are really important and can lead to interesting conversations.

A classic of course - so who could ever give it a bad review!It is important to note Hobbes as opposed to Rousseau (the noble savage).

This is what one would expect. It is what Hobbes wrote. We may not agree but it is kosher Hobbes. The introduction is very good too, and overview to whet one's appetite.
