I'm not an avid snacker, but I do insist on not feeling deprived. If I feel like a cookie, chips, chocolate bar or even a bowl of cereal I'd like to have the option (as long as it fits my macros). Over the past month or so, I've embarked on trying several different low carb / keto snack/treat options. The GOOD: These taste pretty darn good!! Better than any recipe I tried at home. One reviewer compared them to Chips Ahoy minis - while not exactly the same but very close. They also remind me of the McDonalds boxed cookies (for those of us old enough to remember). Taste wise these have a bit of a coconut undertone and aren't sickly sweet - just right. Initially, I wasn't impressed with 6 cookies per serving, but they're so rich and dense the serving is surprisingly quite filling. I'm no Skinny Mini and there is no way I could eat the entire bag in 1 go. I'd need at least 30 min for the 2nd serving, so they definitely kill cravings. The BAD: If you are very sensitive to erythritol the cookies have a mild cooling effect aftertaste. Usually I can't stomach foods with the effect, but luckily it's mild enough to be tolerable. I hope in the future the manufacturer uses a different sweetner or finds a way to get rid of any trace of cooling. I also find these a bit pricey - it's approx $0.39 a cookie! Is it worth it? So far yes - these are the best ready made keto friendly chocolate chip cookies I've found (I hated the Quest version), but I'm not sure that translates into value.
