Good Quality, fast lighting, long burning.
Update: 11/19/13.I have discovered that these need to be sealed in an absolute airtight package, or used very quickly once the package is opened. This is charcoal, and charcoal is by it's nature, absorbent. If you open the package and let these sit for any more time than a week or so, they will absorb moisture from the air and become difficult to light. Fresh out of the package they're great, but they don't store well unless you keep them absolutely dry and sealed.I use these coals to burn resin incense, so I can't speak to the use of them in a hookah or similar uses.I'm guessing the complaints some other reviewers have with the smell of this charcoal is due to the accelerant that they're impregnated with to allow the user to match light these coals. This is true of any easy lighting charcoal . . .give it about 30-45 seconds and it becomes odorless. This is a great product - easy to light, consistent burn, burns for 15-20 minutes at a time. I've had no problems with broken disks. Don't add any combustables until the disk stops sparking and begins to glow and turn grey. My understanding is that the accelerant causes the coal to get hotter than it's normal burning temperature to allow it to ignite the entire coal. I also experienced the overcooking of my resin incense because I added the resin too soon. It scorched and smelled awful - wait for the coal to be at the correct temperature before using it.Overall, I'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend it for use with incense.

Perfect
These are... so great. I can't stress enough. Whenever I go to the hookah bars around here, and I don't know what kind of coals they use, their coals seem to go out relatively quick and they scurry away to bring back more. These last until they turn to dust. They heat all the way through in no time. They do burn up pretty fast and they do break apart after placing them on the bowl, but it doesn't bother me much. Beats relighting them again and again. Would buy these again!

Great Price for bulk
These are great, and I love that they came in bulk. They heat up really well and definitely get the job done with it come to hookah. You cant beat the price either. I had these for a couple of years now and they are still going strong. I have had them this long because I dont hookah like that often, but even after so long, they still light up and get the job dont no problem when i do feel like setting up the hookah.

Average disk coal
Pros:Easy to lightCons:Horrible smell on first lightCoals have a smaller diameter than competitorsCoal takes 10-15 minutes after lighting before its red hotI got these because they were cheap, on amazon, and easy to order. I've since switched to natural coals that I light on a hot plate. These coals completely turned me off to quick light coals due to the initial smell. They are absolutely the worst smelling quick light charcoal I've used.

Good Stuff!
I've been smoking hookah for five months or so and these are the first coals I've ever used. Since then I've tried some other QL brands but none work as well as these do. Granted, I havn't really tried natural coals yet, but as far a quick lights go these are the bees knees. They take less than a minute to light up and carry a strong red glow for up half an hour. There is small oder of accelerant upon first lighting, but it only last a moment. I actually kind of enjoy the smell myself. Plus the cool sparking that goes off as the first layer is burned is really satisfying and watching it pop and spark all the way around has become a beloved part of my smoking ritual. On a sour note, I have had a few packs of these that don't seem to want to burn properly. They never really catch, and take forever to get lit. This is probably due to old coals that have lost their coating of accelerant. In any case this only happend to me once or twice- not a major issue. Other than that you can expect to find a few crumbled or broken cakes every now and again, but that's to be expected.I'd urge you to try these if you're just starting out. If you're anything like me, you'll grow to love them.

Holland Easy Quick Lighting Charcoal is an inexpensive option to get your hookah up and running, but you get what you pay for.
I had bought a roll of quick lighting charcoal when I bought my hookah. Unfortunately those 10 coals didn't last long. I don't have an effective way to light something like Coconara coals, and I was pleased with the quicklight coals I had purchased along with my hookah so I went looking for something similar. These Holland Easy Quick Lighting Charcoals unfortunately did NOT fit that bill. They come well packaged in a box of 10 rolls, each with 10 coals in it. Each coal is coated with a quick light substance that strikes me as being similar to a sparkler or black snake firework. It throws off a few sparks (nothing excessive or overly dangerous), and smoke for a few seconds until it all burns away. Give it a few minutes, and you have a "hot" coal for your hookah. However, "hot" is in quotes because I found that you generally need at least 2 coals to generate enough heat for a proper smoke from your hookah, unlike the coals that I bought last time where I only needed 1 at a time. The Holland coals also say that they are tasteless and odorless. Although I never noticed an odor (after the quicklight burned away), is had a very unpleasant sulfur-like taste imparted to my hookah, as if I were sucking on a smoke bomb. This flavor never lasted for an entire bowl, but I tried giving it up to 10 minutes to hopefully burn off that taste with no success. These coals also seemed to crumble much worse than other coals I've used. The ash turned into a much finer powder. And they didn't seem to last as long. Again, I've used other coals that last approx. 1 hour. These only lasted 40-45 minutes, which includes the 10 minute burn to try and get rid of the taste. That only leaves 30 minutes of actual hookah enjoyment (if you think sucking on a burnt sparkler for 10 more minutes enjoyable). When I bought these in early May 2013, I paid $7.35 plus shipping. I see they've dropped the price now (early June 2013) to less than $2. I will not be buying this brand again, and if a roll were given to me free with a hookah, or bag of shisha, I'd still turn around a buy a better coal.
