Cheap Rack, but Functionally
It is okay, but nothing great. The item I received was defective and I had to repair it before installation. The base unit didn't have the holes drilled all the way through and the finish was slightly tacky which required a quick wipe down with mineral spirits. I don't believe that there was at top coat such as polyurethane which would explain the tackiness.The wood itself is light weight wood, similar to Pine, with almost no grain and the construction is marginal. On the plus side, it does hold the pool cues securely. For the money, it is okay, but if there where other choices I probable would have spent a few extra dollars to get a better unit.

Good, but could be more stable
Easy to install, decent quality, great price, and looks good. Not much more to say on the product. There was only one small detail I did not like which caused me to give it four instead of five stars. The pre-drilled holes do not line up with two studs, so one hole is drilled using a plastic anchor. I prefer to anchor it in studs for stability, but the rack seems fairly sturdy so far.However, when you install it, be careful you measure correctly so you do not have it too close to the ceiling, or the bottom rack too close to the top one. Have a friend help you mark it so you only drill your holes once.

Oak Version Not Made Of Oak
To quote from the description............."HJ Scott furniture and cue racks are crafted using American Red Oak, Birch or Maple .........." I ordered the cue rack in oak thinking that I would receive one made of oak based on the picture and the description. I've been a woodworker for 50 years and have worked almost exclusively in American Red Oak. I know red oak when I see it. The cue rack I received is clearly not made of red oak. It's too light to be maple so perhaps it's birch but it looks like pine.The attached photo shows the rack I received compared to my oak pool table. I'll be sending the cue rack back.

Cheap and poor finish
Arrived with the wood marred and poorly painted black paint finishing. Appears to have been a return painted black for resale.
