This short publication gave me an overview of Chromecast (created by Google), comparison with other similar devices, as well as some troubleshooting. I grabbed a copy of this book and was able to walk them through it over the phone. It actually does a lot more for them then they expected.

Chromecast is an amazing piece of hardware and I had no idea about it until my sister told me she picked it up. I did some digging and found this book and it really helped me out. I am glad I found this book or I would of never ended up getting chromecast. It was an easy read and very easy to understand. The author did a great job at explaining in detail how chromecast works and how to use it.

Quite informational and teaches everything to get the Chromecast running, as well as gives a lot of suggestions for third party apps to use with it.I was under the impression the Chromecast could be hacked into and secret settings unlocked, however this book informed me otherwise, and the most advanced it got for me was how to cast Amazon Instant (a non-native channel), among other ideas which are capable with legit android apps.

Great book. Has very usefull information. I would have been in darkness without it.

Clearly written, covers most bases in some detail. Went out and bought a chromecast after reading and then used the book to test my main use cases, ie travel. Added a pocket router, an Asus WL-330nul and I have everything I need to be up and mobile.

Unless you are a geek yourself, avoid this book. As a manual for newcomers to devices like Chromecast the book is shambles. It does not follow any kind of logical sequence and dives from one point to another at random. If you are trying to use the book to set up a devices you will find yourself in tears of rage and frustration.

Just like reading the manual and playing with your new toy. I don't have a Chromecast but wanted to see its capabilities and since this book was free I thought it might help. 3 stars because it is helpful. Not more because there's nothing really different, useful or outstanding than the device itself provides.
