**Q: What are the dimensions of jack? The "package" dimensions are listed but one doesn't install the package.**
A: The dimensions are in the pics of the product. Everything is right there! Seriously! Right There!!!

**Q: used in a stereo amp will these disconnect the speakers when headphones are plugged in? Like a switching jack.**
A: Only if you wire your speakers through this jack.

**Q: will this be able to shut off main speaker when the earphone is plugged in?**
A: No I do not think these will work for your application. I'm guessing that you want to be able to practice your guitar amp at home without the noise affecting your family. Go to your nearest Guitar Repair Center tell them what you need and I guarantee they will have one and they're usually not that expensive and not that difficult to install
