Pleasantly surprised. It plays just fine, like a real trumpet and as well as some student horns. I am a weekend warrior and would not use this on a job or in a concert but it is fun to have and I will use it to keep in shape when traveling. My silent mute and trumpet mouthpiece fit it well.
